Why didn't Shane Ahmatt make it?

Just as the title asks why did Ahmatt not go further than he did? I was too young and not quite in the loop to know the answer to such a question. Any info about his career and what he's doing now would be appreciated.

Currently living in the US with wife and kids. Working for his father in law last check.

Why he didn't make it?....probably a combination of:

2-3 inches too small
Attitude did stink at times
Streaky shooter

Propped up as he next big thing way too much as a junior, and too early.

The height thing did hurt.

The pressure of being the son of.

Hell of a nice kid though.
