Why did Sturt only have 6 guys? Pretty impressive win by them with only 6 I think. A few of those guys could be in for big ABL seasons.

So who was good in this game? Will any of them have an impact in ABL?

No because there is no Under 20 competition.

Juniors in SA is now Under 10 - Under 18.

My question is why is there no Under 10's in State Champs when that actually is considered Junior basketball and they play under all the same rules and conditions as other Junior grades?

I'd say it's because they want to keep the focus on skill development rather than make it about winning at such an early age. Ask any club worth their salt which of the two is more important at this age group and I think you'll find they agree.

And Under 12's is about winning and not development?

Why do BSA have Finals for Under 10's if it's all about development?

It's one weekend afterall.

u/10s used to have State Champs until about....5 years or so ago? I believe the clubs themselves decided to remove it, as there was kids crying etc. after just about every game, and they didn't want to put pressure on the young ones.

The state champs are an irrelevant event decided amid 4 clubs. It should be for the top four only as there are not enough competitive matches to make it worthwhile. Ugly but true.

So what is the point of having a season when it is decided essentially by those same 4 clubs?

If you dont want to participate, then dont, no one can force you to do it.

The only thing ugly is that you have no understanding that we are essentially a tournament sport at the elite level, and yet you would rather elite kids in SA not participate in tournaments.
