Life after Brett Maher

Interesting that the Sixers in the two seasons after Brett's retirement, have had massive losing records.
What Ninnis & Clarke would have given to have had Brett in their team.

The last 3 years Maher played, the 36ers finished 6th (08/09 - Ninnis), 9th (07/08) and 11th (06/07). Not sure if those results were much better.

No disrespect to Maher as he was a champion of the club but his last few seasons he was injury plagued and his output was about as good as Ng's.

What we really miss with Maher gone is someone who is happy to take the game into his own hands. When we need points in the fourth quarter we have no one who is willing to take on the responsibility of getting it done.

I suspect this problem is primarily due to our players not being able to create their own shots!

His output was a lot better than Ng's. Injury was the bigger concern.

I thought he had about 12 points per game but obviously he had more assist and leadership

And could create his own shot. And was clutch. Just a winner.

King james dead wrong, he was much better than most of our players in all his time at Adelaide. Cant put a stat line on leadership, moments of game breaking plays. Ng has never really been much than a shooter.
