The Carmelo Anthony trade saga is finally over.

The Nuggets traded Melo to the New York Knicks tonight, a league source said. Denver gets Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, the Knicks 2014 first-round draft pick, the Warriors' 2012 second-round pick, the Warriors' 2013 second-round pick and $3 million in cash.

Anthony will go to New York, along with Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman.

Anthony was not at the Nuggets' practice as the team resumed workouts following the All-Star break.

A source said the Knicks will send Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry to Minnesota as part of the deal.
Is it a four-team deal or have they confused Warriors and Wolves here? What are the Warriors getting? What are the Wolves paying/dealing?

Edit: Oh, from a comment on ESPN:
The Knicks had the Warriors picks due to the David Lee deal before the season.

Knicks got owned. Gave up way too much for an over-rated Carmelo Anthony

Will be interesting to see how Chauncey Billups plays in a run n gun style of basketball.

If Billups even stays in NY. Isn't the suggestion that he'll ditch them?

For crying out loud. Why did they trade away Felton??

Seriously, they needed Felton to run the offense. Billups is just too old.

Can't believe they would trade away Felton. He's arguably in line for Most Improved this year.

Billups will stay for two years until D-Will or CP3 arrive (if they can fit them in new cap). Don't get too hung up on Felton - everybody looks better in D'Antonio system.

Can anyone with more salary cap / trade knowledge than me explain how the Knicks can take on so much more salary than they are sending out?

I'm a Knick fan, but we've given up a bit too much for one man.

I'm pissed off that we've given up Felton who's clearly a canidate for Most Improved. He runs that team well and was having an awesome year.

Billups is old and slow now. He'll get out as soon as he can.

The Knicks will also trade Anthony Randolph(notes) and Eddy Curry's(notes) expiring contract to the Minnesota Timberwolves, who would send Corey Brewer(notes) to the Nuggets.
And trade rumours involving Portland too:
The Nuggets want to reroute two Knicks to the New Jersey Nets as part of a separate deal, including Felton and Mozgov, sources said. The Nets badly want to get rid of Devin Harris and have discussed a three-team with Denver and Dallas that would send Harris to the Mavericks, and bring Felton and Mozgov to New Jersey, sources said.

The Nets are considering sending Harris and Troy Murphy to Portland for Andre Miller and Joel Przybilla, but sources say that deal’s on the backburner. New Jersey would prefer Felton over Miller, sources say.

This piece from a couple of days ago doesn't exactly pull punches about who is behind all of this.

I wouldn't get too hung up on trading away Felton. The Knicks weren't going to seriously compete for finals this season anyway and with the reports of CP3 wanting to join Melo and Amare at NY they will have a much better PG in a season or so.

I'd love to have CP3 running the PG for the Knicks in a couple of seasons.

Had not seen that yet Isaac, very interesting, may open up more time for Mills as Harris is having a poor year.

This just gets better and better. Thank you NY.

Harris is an upgrade on Miller. Even in his "Bad" season he is getting about 15ppg, 8apg which I imagine both surpass Miller. So I think it is bad news for Mills

The Nuggets GM must be in the running for GM of the year.

As Carmelo wasnt going to stay in Denver after this season and now they have acquired all this young talent.

Major pick up the Nuggets.

This definetly beats getting nothing for your superstar when they leave and sign with another club.

The Nuggets just didnt want to take the chance that cleveland took last year when they were certain that Lebron would stay.

And good on the Nuggets holding off on making this deal early they knew what type of deal they wanted and who they wanted to get and they never lower their asking price and finally Knicks came to the table and agreed to trading 3 starters and a prospect Big Man plus draft picks!

Not one mention of Gallinari?, I know Carmelo Anthony and he play the same position, but he is the player that I would have kept! Or at least been very reluctant to trade. D'Antoni played with his father in Italy, I'm sure he didn't want to see him go.

Anon, I totally agree. Gallinari was one player I did not want to see been traded away..He has a bright future and I believed he suited the D'Antoni system.

At least the Knicks weren't stupid enough to trade away Fields--Give him 3-5 years and he will be an all-star IMO

denver defs got the better end of the deal, gallinari i thought would have been off limits.

Even thought it would be good to see cp3 go to the knicks and finally get them back to the top, but id rather not have teams having 3 frnachise players and two or three super teams.

The Banker,

Yes and no.

While Denver has remained competitive they also look like being middle of the West for a long time. Lots of long odds in the lotteries or first round playoff exits.

At least Cleveland are a real chance of getting the No. 1 pick (shame there doesn't appear to be any franchise players there tho).

Will be an interesting game in New York tomorrow with Melo and Billups suting up!

My lucky bro not only went to the All Star game in LA, but long ago booked tickets to watch NYK play against Bogut and the Bucks at MSG. He now gets to see Melo and Billups alongside Stoudemire in a Knicks uniform for the first time in front of a sellout MSG crowd!

Juror12, I haven't been following this closely, but the Knicks must have been under the cap, otherwise you're right, they would have had to match salaries.

I'm surprised that so many feel the Knicks gave up too much. To me, Carmelo is one of the best players in the league and you do whatever you can to secure those guys first and fill in around them.

Felton, Gallinari and Chandler are all nice solid players, but none of them take you past the first round of the playoffs.

The Knicks have a bit more work to do to put the right team around Amare and Carmelo, but they finally have an elite level core to work with.
