Would Patty Mills play for Sixers?

Could Patrick Mills play for the sixers? Lock-out set to open door:
by Jai Bednall
'THE Adelaide 36ers believe they will be Patrick Mills preferred playing destination if he decides to head to Australia during an expected NBA lockout next summer. A salary dispute between NBA team owners and the players in the US is threatening to delay [or cancel] the start of the 2011/12 season, potentially opening the door for out of contracts players like Mills to play overseas.
Sixers basketball operations manager and part-owner Richard Hill says the relationship Mills has with Coach Marty Clarke and his affinity with Adelaide leaves his club well placed to secure the point guards signature, if he chose a visit home over a more lucrative European shirt.
Portland Trailblazers point guard Mills was coached by Clarke at the AIS, is a Crows supporter and his mother Yvonne, grew up in SA.
"If he was going to play in Australia we'd be top of his wish list. There's no doubt about that," Hill said.
"He's got an affinity with the club and the coaches. But it's still very early days. We've had casual discussions around the club but we certainly haven't talked to Patty. That would be premature and unprofessional."

why would Patty even play in NBL even if there was a lockout, it could potentially put him out of a contract, espcially if he doesn't perform well enough

Yep, if he can and does play somewhere due to a lockout, expect it to be in Europe.

Be good if he can put on sixers uniform, but highly unlikely, will bring people to game to see mills play far better than the last 3 point guards that the sixers had.

I dont think Mills would go to Europe. Were rulling the NBL out based on normal conditions, but if there is a lockout then how many players will goto Europe, it will be a massive flood to the league, players on the fringe might simply not get a team. Its not unreasonable he would come here to pad his numbers, be given maximum court time, and experience running a team, all of which would help him the following year in the NBA more than 5-10mins a game in Europe.

There is always a possibility.
Remember last NBA lockout Scottie pippen and luc longley were about to suit up for perth. longley sold it to pippen stating 1 game a week, travel around and see AUS and go fishing on his boat. Apparently if the lockout hadn't ended pippen was gonna be a wildcat.

NBA players would prefer english speaking and they loved it here during the olympics so we got as much chance as other places i recon, especially if they dont need the cash.

Not a fluff story to make Clarke look good as far as his 'connections' go with int players!??

That's what I thought, Fizzle. A convenient story given recent Sixers results.
