SEABL Round 15

Luke Kendall (signed as a King) had 37 against the AIS. Newley shot 33 after getting 32 earlier in the round.

Shawn Redhage had 44 and 20 in 38 minutes.

Surely a team in the NBL has need for those numbers?

I'd be surprised if both those Tasmanian imports don't end up being NBL superstars! Reckon Adelaide could use Redhage to replace Cat?

From what I've heard, Redhage is around 6'8".

Here's a photo (he's the guy in the white shirt)

The other import in that NW Tasmania team is Adam Hall but I know nothing about him.

I think a better fit for us would be Mike Coleman who does pretty well for Hobart. Not sure how flashy he is, but he's about 6'5" and more of a guard from what I've heard.

Surely you could offer him double what he's getting in the SEABL and entice him up to Adelaide with the promise of (slightly) warmer weather?

Also, he'd be a semi-proven commodity and easier to scout than having to fly over to the states to investigate options.

Which were the two that got invited to Boomers training - Redhage and Hall right? Coleman was the guy you were comparing to Newley's stats on the last forum...they would all be good fits me thinks. Surely the Tassie teams don't have more money than the 6ers - though, with the way they're managed, I doubt we've even heard of them :P

Me thinks averaging 30+20 in the SEABL would translate to 10+10 in the NBL if they have the size and experience?

No idea really. Holmes averages 30 and 10-15 in our ABL and translates that to 13 and 8 in the NBL.

Bruce Bolden averages 28 in the SEABL.

Coleman is averaging 35 and 10.

Some of these guys would have to be worth a shot if Paul Rees is still running in the NBL.

SEABL import players in the past who have moved into the NBL have normally been recruited as role players & not big time scorers. I can't think of any SEABL import players who have averaged 20+ in the NBL. Players like Lowery & Cro Magnum man played for many years in the SEABL before going up.

Over the years there have been heaps of players who averaged 40+ a game but have never got a look in - Delaveaga, DJ, Catron, Nunnelly.
If Dusty was playing SEABL what would his numbers be?

Sure trial Redhage(plays same position as Dusty) or Hall, they could be good enough(no other NBL team thinks so..yet) but I would tend to get an import 5 man with good range or a 3 man import to counter Cat's loss.

Heard word from the Boomer camp that Redhage didn't perform that well. Understandbly he was playing against the cream of Oz ball but he wasn't the player Goorj & Joyce thought he would be. He has good size for the SEABL but not so much in the big show.

Those two coaches had a good look at him but his numbers down at Slowbart suggest that he was putting up the big numbers as he was the only import, now with a 2nd import playing his numbers mightn't be so dominant. His 44 & 20 over the w/end suggest that he is still playing very well.

Maybe he can marry a 2 headed Taswegian slapper and get dual citizenship.
