SA Country State Championships

With the Tournament next month, the time will pass quickley.

Wanting to hear people thoughts about Who will be the teams to watch?

Open to discussion about all age groups, boys and girls

i also asked for some banter last time this came up and no takers.

i am interested in what combo association teams will go in junior state champs and what grade - and what colour uniforms they will wear.

i know limestone coast wore teal previously.

S.E. and iron triangle combo teams would be good enough for state grade not reserves.

My thoughts are the winning team from each Div 1 country comp should get automatic entry into the SA State Champs.

They do knucklehead, and so does any other team that wants to enter.

So your saying if there are 25 teams all wanting to play in a div 1 comp

that BSA would say yes???

I doubt that it would happen

so winning team does not get automatic entry they are just like any other team in this state and they need to put an application in to BSA and hope they get selected for the requested grade.

The Banker country 'teams' do not want to play in State Champs. They don't believe they will be competitive.

That's why BSA have created the regions to encourage more country participation.

individual associations have played every now and then - but the only real successful arrangement has been the combined association model of Limestone coast - who as mentioned before have been good enough to go in state.

i would expect a pirie / augusta / whyalla combo to be good enough for this as well.

riverland and yorke penn team (depending on what age group) may also play state.

i expect adelaide hills / murray bridge / strath - to not be as strong because a lot of their good players will be committed to mavericks.

mavericks will win state girls

Hasnt this been debated to death.
Going by the Thread title isnt the discussion on the upcoming SA Country Junior Champs?
There is another thread on Regional/Association sides entering BSA junior champs.

Murray Bridge to Win U16 Boys Div 1

Eastern Hills to Win U12 Boys Div 1

Results from 2 weeks ago at the U18/U14 State champs

Mt Gambier Defeated Eastern Hills in U18 Boys Div 1

Eastern Hills Defeated defeated Great Southern in Under 14 Boys Div 1

Great results from many associations but good to see Eastern Hills appear in both Grand finals in the boys and I expect the Eastern Hills Under 12 Boys team to be in GF this weekend.
