Multiple Teams

Had a look through various divisions some even have 4 teams out of 6 from same club. What the thoughts about playing so regularly against each other and how can we overcome this ?

Basketball community has to decide which is more important.

Pro/Rel or playing against various clubs.

The pro/rel system has the potential for this to occur. The upside is that the teams playing in those divs are all about the same standard.

North vs south, east vs west, inner city vs outer city nothing better than district clubs representing their local communities at the highest level. Makes for great interest and excitement.

Pro/Rel BOOOOOOAAARRRRRRRINNNNNNNNGGGGG!!!! Forestville white vs Foresstville Blue, Forestville Gold Vs Forestville Aqua, they all also train together on Sundays, I mean how boaring is that. Oh and player xxx has to travel down from Salisbury to play Div 1 basketball and will play Federation Soccer for his local club instead!!! How bad is that???

our kids happier than ever - were getting thumped each week - now playing balanced games and even winning some.

at least they didn't cap your pool at 2 teams per club - and then some would not even get a game.

we improved and went up a poll and played new clubs - in fact with pro rel we play more teams than if a single divison was created with only 8 teams.

ie pro / rel pool has 18 teams - if they had created a div 4 we would have been playing the same 8 teams for 12 months.

Throwing these whacky ones out there:

- Cap each club at four teams per age group.

- Introduce u13, u15, u17.

the benefits of pro / rel outweigh the odd situation like you mention.

that is a good point libertine and something that could go on the table.

Except that we play U16 and U18 National Championbships.

How would you compare an U15 and an U16 competeing for the same spot?

libertine - giving it some more thought - some smaller clubs may not have enough players in one year alone to get 8 or 9 out to a game

and then kids would be playing against tall of the same players every week

single age groups is the worst idea for variety and competition
