Can't you give the kids some time to settle into the new skool year B4 they start slagging off each other?
Having said that, the olde skool tie says Hackney High
Trinity College this yr has some secret weapons
Jack Toft
Years ago
Who's Trinity's sporting director now?
If he gets involved as head coach they could be quite strong.
trinity may have lost the huge bigs, but still a fairly big team
If unley gets a real coach they will have a chance.
Stmichaels, have a very strong team with two of there boys making state under 18's as first years
jack you appear in almost every thread in one way or another, why?
anonymous
Years ago
unley still have tim shortt as a coach and they've won back to back 9/10 knockout championships with him coaching. same group, same coach. why shouldn't they win?
mr.who
Years ago
unley are back to back 9/10 knockout champions thats obviously saying something...
Because Jack, you have no credibility to back up your claims.
your just a blow hard who is a never was.
unley lost their second best player from their 09 year 10 ko team and last years comp wasnt that tough so I dont see unley has the favourites
anonymous
Years ago
unley only lost macca sexton, their squad is deep enough to replace him easily.
by talent and depth
1. unley
2. concordia
3. st michaels
Concordia did pick up a star recruit this year but looks to be out indefinetly would have made them a contender
Now all the kids got time to settle into the new school year here how it gonna go down.
Top school teams
1. Unley - no doubt
2. Concordia
3. St. Micks - deffs a close second
4. ???? PAC, Unity, Cabra
Unley are the best, although they have lost macca, he wasn't the best player on that team, and he certainly wouldn't be now. Make a list of the top 15 players in this comp and you’ll see get 5 maybe 6 Unley boys, 3/4 cc boys, 2 from st. micks and the rest scattered among other schools. The easily have the best starting 5 out there, and some of the best in each position.

Thought the country kid was a PG? or havent you caught up on that news?
Anon
i would have counted myself in that 5/6, if i went to unley, and if was still at high school.
Concordia would probably have that Burns kid playing point if they were smart, didnt he just make state?
Yea but he would not compete with unleys or st mics pgs
yeh no joke, sammy D and Joel would kill him. they're both aus camp players
Unley 2007 year.8 KO winners
Unley 2009 year.10 KO winners
Unley 2011 open KO winners?
looks like a natural progression to me...
sorry did i forget....
Unley year.8 2010 KO winners
Unley year.10 2010 KO winners
looks like they got a pretty decent team..
Did i spy 3 Unley yr.12's playing on the Sturt ABA team in the Pre-season tournament this weekend?
My point is Unley will be good this year, and next year
Anon
Years ago
Sorry man they are in year 12 as you said yourself so dont know how that converts to good next year if you are pinning all your hopes on those 3, as they wont being eligible.
3 but those three with they younger players around them are already a good team and could very well win this year
Concordia will win surey, they have some absoltue guns and they got some new guy that will tear shit up!!
Yeh well said man i think they got Brad Hartman and JN-TRAEN as a supporting role so they r a lock
i hear that that hartman kid is like 7"3 and has never mised a shot. also that white kid the is they are calling the ghost is apparently awsome too.. concordia can not lose
concordia 3peat should be good game against unley but will win!
hartman is like 6'1 will be outsized by bigger players

spencer w from unley i hear is a dark horse this year
Anon
Years ago
perhaps he should be running in the melbourne cup! lol
spencer w can shoot the 3, but thats all he'd to for unley thus year, if he even got on. He's not a consistant shooter (evident in this district games) and sometimes takes risky/stupid shots.
How many times do Concordia have to win to make you realise that regardless of the squad, they've probably got the best chance at winning it due to the culture they have going on over there. Oh well, regardless, they seem to perform better as an underdog side anyway. lets just see what happens come August
if you really have any doubt in your mind about how insane the skills of Concordia are honestly just check this out but all you other schools better make sure you got a clean pair of undies with yo first http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykUbHbC5oaU
CC has no hope against unley, their guards cant compete against Daly & Thomas, and they will be severly undersized at the big when having to compete against Creeper & Wright
Anon
Years ago
CC guards will tromp all over thomas - Daly is the only worry
Burns vs. Daly and Noble vs. Thomas
all out unley win there
Outsider
Years ago
It is actually;
Burns, Elms and Noble for Concordia.
Vs
Daly, Thomas and Meaden
Daly is flat out the best player out of the group, followed by Meaden (both sturt youth league div 1 players)
Burns and Elms are both very good players, 16 state last year so will match up fairly well, however it will be very hard to stop both daly and meaden.
Knowing both teams very well i tip unley by 8-12 points. Both good teams but unley just have the extra talent, even though concordia is better coached.
Anon
Years ago
"Burns vs. Daly and Noble vs. Thomas
all out unley win there"
your'e and idiot if you think Thomas will win over Noble
Hartman will match up with Meaden - both are good players
Thomas is an extremly hard worker, he had a good couple of minutes in the ABL tourny just past, and is a gun 3 point shooter. Noble is a good player but he whines and moans too much
The Meaden v Hartman will be very interesting, they both matched-up last year in U18 D1. Im unsure of what Hartman is playing now, but Meaden is playing quality minutes in YL D2
But like someone stated earlier, who are Concordia going to play in big? with an athletic foward in Creeper, and Wright a 6'8(?) dominate post player, Concordia cant really match up
Who have each team got as 6th men and role players of the bench?
Anon
Years ago
Hey coach carter aka anonymous above sounds ike you whine and moan too much.......
The Man

Hartman is the key for concordia, depends how quickly he gets back into it after injuring his arm.
He is the most talented basketballer out of everyone talked about here including daly, the kid is an absoloute freak.

To the Anonymous above who thinks he knows everything about the boys in both teams, u cant know 2 much as u didnt even know Harttman was playing or what hes been doin.
I have seen your precious unley boys whining and moaning during theyre games, but perhaps u mistake whining and moaning for passion, heart.
CC have an ahtletic BIG who also plays YL Div 2, he is bigger than Creeper - so you are really not up with it as much as you think now are you?
once Unley decides to get someone who has actually had coaching experience at a high level like the other schools do and a coach who doesn't just focus on one or two players when there are 9-10 players in the team who are equally as good or important, then maybe they will have a chance at making it to the finals.

Yeah and I bet none of them see the court - lol
Sturt are predicted to be 2nd, they just lost to Norwood (predicted 1st) by 5 or something. but without Ng or Holmes.
So Sturt arn't really that weak dickhead
Boguts Bro - according to sporting pulse wright got 2:15
Also Spear & Clark from St. Michaels named in West & Woodville squads, they'll be hard to beat

as if no one has mention aaron eckermann, they call him ray aaron for a reason
sam "the beast" elms
Years ago
yeah ray aaron is alright but when he gets blocked you know hes gonna get angry and get ejected. You gotta be looking out for sam elms' dunks left right and centre as well as his 20 boards, 10 blocks a game.
Word on the street is, Max Calligeros, the beast from the South... of Australia is repeating year 12 solely on the merit that he wishes to dunk on all that stand in his way for Concordia. expect to see him averaging Wilt Chamberlain like numbers at a basketball stadium near you.
cool hes a dud he just shoots that ugly jumpshot all game

Hartman at CC is the most overated & overhyped player mentioned in this topic. Just take away his drive & let him shoot that ugly jumpshot of his. He has never played any D & cant contain anyone off the dribble as he is always playing for the steal. Nuff said!
dont look past saint ignatius
their starters are made up of all under 18/23 div ones with a benched filled with some handy div twos just saying they cant be messed around with
henley wont be a push over..
p thomas and sam mayes will be a good 1 2 punch
Anonymous

What I meant to say was that Unley will beat Henley...yes unley will be too good for henley
Everyone underestimates St. Michaels, they beat Unley on the weekend so they should be right up there to win it
concordia over unley no doubt. For one Daly isn't playing, Concordia have a starting 5 of Hamish Burns running the point, right along side him is Levi Elms and Jake Dyer running 2 and 3 man, whilst theres Brad Hartman in the 4 position and Hayden Kanisauskas running centre. Then to talk about the men coming off the bench, big Jordan Noble and Richard Gerswisch. Very hard team to stop, both on transition and set plays.
dude concordia dont have anyone over 6'4 they wont be able to deal with st micks and unleys height
mate, height can be deceiving. Try scoring when theres 5 people on the team with verticals over 75, except hamish burns.
also i think hamish burns was mis-spelled I think his name is spelled overated*
Ask the West ABL team if they think he is over rated.

Jealous sooky lah lahs with no idea except showing up how jealous you all are!!
Without Daly Unley aren't even that good, plus big Dick Gerschwitz is 6'6, and averaging 14 boards, 5 offensive, only negative is Hamish Burns' slack defense
Tenison Woods are gonna win it all who will stop pastys?
3peat, lol at everyone above saying Unley were the only contenders, great game they played in the GF......oh wait
hahaha everyone bitching on Hamish earlier on this thread and he hit the game winner, he's overated...real
apparently you don't need a center or a point guard to win a state championship. Cos its a 3peat

there better be an international comp as well as concordia pretty much have nationals

Hey Allen perhaps you should read the bagging of the players in this whole thread and you might understand why they actually having bragging rights!! and then come back and tell me about the immature comments that have been made about the players in the CC team and the naming of them by the other schools and others who think they are in the know, but obviously arent!
hamish came up big was a very intense game, could have gone either way
Allen when u win 3 in a row, if you ever do that, you'll understand that bragging is perfectly acceptable, continue the arrogance lads!!
jake dyer u dont have a reason to brag u got rejected then airballed that 3
jake dyer can brag as much as he wants, who else has been in the same team that's won 3 years in a row all 3 years?
Hayden Kanisauskas is the only one that has played in all 3. Jake had a broken arm in 2009
