Come back Paul

I thought I would start a "come back paul" chant....

All those who know Welby, and think he should make a comeback to the ABA should respond.

20 or more responses would indicate a come back by Paul. (I know he would read this forum)

As an ex ABA player I think he is more than capable at this level and the game needs him more than ever.

COME BACK PAUL!!!!

Perhaps there might be others who should also consider returning to the ranks to take the load off some of the less than quality rookies

Paul will definetely not return to District ranks for the way he has been treated,i have my top dollar that he will not return he is happy doing what he enjoys now.Yes he is a little fat,but a good referee who knows how to communicate to players, and players like myself understand him far better than current refs.

I've heard he is umpiring cricket after being recruited by the former referee's boss, Neil Poulton and he has taken to it a like a duck to water. Maybe his style of style of "officiating" while appreciated by coaches/players yet frowned upon by our referee coaches is more condusive to umpiring cricket.

i agree.. hes a bit of a FAT PIG... but a pretty decent guy and a good ref with a good feel for the game.

unfortunately, often experience and communication are overlooked in referees and they go for youth and superior fitness

best of luck in whatever you decide to do welby
