If it's real it's actually 1998, the NBL didn't go to the summer season to the next season 1998/99.

They played the 1998 season running from roughly Jan to June then commenced the summer season in Oct 1998 through to March 1999. David stiff came in for the 1999 season so this may help when identifying the year and signatures.
