Patrick Hunt gets top FIBA gig

Australia's Patrick Hunt has been appointed as President of the World Association of Basketball Coaches (WABC) for a four-year term from 2010 to 2014.

Hunt, who currently holds the position of Applied Technical Advancement Coach at the AIS, will now lead and direct all WABC activities for FIBA.

The aim of the WABC, which Hunt will now oversee, is to raise coaching standards worldwide through organising and conducting coaching programs such as clinics, courses, and seminars and develop coaching resources.

Hunt will lead WABC to collaborate with representatives from each of the five FIBA zones: Asia, Africa, the Americas, Europe and Oceania. These representatives will form the WABC Executive, with an advisory group being appointed in the next two months.
