Huge signing. Had the privledge of playing against him.
Has ridicolous athletic abilities, rebounds the basketball and is really improving his outside shooting.
I guess college wasn't for him?

Born April 1992, so 18ish?

For those 36ers fans who don't really know the name, he's the kid that people speak of being the 'next Sam Mackinnon'.

I guess in the event he has a bad game we can ask him where he left his paddle?

Let's just hope they spell his name correctly on the contract.

As the MVP of the Albert Schweitzer Basketball Tournament, it can be assumedhe would've had some good colleges wanting his services.
Either the 36ers deal is very enticing or he simply doesn't want to go to college in the US.
Yep, born in 1992.

Not an academic kid.

Can flat out play - GREAT GET FOR THE NBL - DIDN'T GO TO FOOTY. PUMP IT UP!!! SERIOUSLY YOUNG TALENT IN THE LEAGUE - PROMOTE THE CRAP OUT OF THIS. HE COULD BE UNBELIEVEABLE FOR THE LEAGUE.

Best young talent now in the NBL. This guy could well be holding down the small forward position in the Boomers team within 4 years. He is rare athletic talent that can score and rebound.

I hope Clarke gives him a red-hot go, because if he does, he will could be rookie of the year.

AWESOME, good to see Clarkes AIS background paying off with recruiting a top quality rookie, i think this kind of signing is what we all hoped for/expected when Clarke signed on as coach

Great get. Watch this guy improve as the year goes. With the likes of he, Cadee and Blanchfield choosing NBL over college it shows the league is starting to get some respect back.

Good move for Mitch too, under Clarke he will get close to the best possible development. Be interesting to see how much Marty can bring particularly Creek but also Hill along.

Do people think he is worth starting and letting him flourish? Or atleast coming off the bench for plenty of minutes ala Newley and Ingles in there rookie seasons? I hope so, hopfully this signing will be the end of top young guys not coming to Adelaide

Nice signing by the Sixers. Probably just signed the best u18 player in the country! Its been a long while since the Sixers could say that I'm guessing.

Dont know a lick about this kid but if he is as good as everyone is saying then its a fantastic signing. So far no know is negative about him and his vids look good so i hope he get a fair burn. Anyone know how tall he is?

Creek's has just 2 flaws...he is very much a lefty, and he does not yet have a reliable long range shot on him. Apart from that, at his age, he is a rare talent.

JP, according to the info from the Albert Schweitzer Basketball Tournament site (MACDUB mentioned it above) Mitch is 195cm - but being 18 he could still be growing!

If you do a search, there is another thread that talks about him last year. Think the thread was called "who's the next Sam Mackinnon" or similar.

I know nothing about him but this sounds awesome!

Good to see us go for another swingman in Herbie's place. I think we had the balance right in the first place.

Snowtown to Downtown. LOL.

That video of dunks in the U20 tournament is pretty remarkable. Certainly seems to find dunking opportunities pretty easily.

Seems like a great signing for the future.

I liked to say I called this one. I hope he gets good mintues. Great guy and is still working on outside shot but is athletic as hell. Great choice by Marty Does this mean he could play for SA U20s Nationals. Would be interesting

Be nice to see Creek and Abercrombie go at it in a couple of seasons. Looks to be a great signing for the Sixers, hopefully he can get some court time and make the most of his opportunities.

I wouldn't think Mitch Creek would be that many points, I wonder if the sixers will sign another player.

Looking forward to watching the two young guns Creek and DJ develop and dominate. Clarke's system based on ball movement and mobility should suit both of them.

Hopefully also they can both learn one or two tricks from capt Ballinger.

Would love him to grow 2cm more. Would be a legit international 3 man then. The Sixers biggest deficiency has been at the 3 spot the last few years.

Have to agree with Polly, sit back and take it in, Mitch is absolutely the next big thing.

He is a freak, all natural ability and athleticism, he makes it look easy.
