Opals vs Greece, live tonight on Fox 3?

For those people lucky enough to have Foxtel - the Foxsports website is listing Opals vs Greece as Live tonight (27/9/10) on Foxsport 3 at 11.20pm EDT (10.50pm Adelaide). Top 4 from Group go through to playoffs. Opals play Greece tonight, France (28/9) and then USA (29/9). Belarus and Canada are also in this Group but not sure who plays them.

Wasn't aware until I read Boti's article that the results against Canada and Belarus carry over - so Opals already have points for two wins.

Greece have 1 star player they need to take care of and they should be fine.

Good luck girls!

Greece are solid but as previously stated the offence revolves around Maltzi (sp?) who can shoot the shit out of it. Opals by 15+

Cambage is just such a presence. Her game is just developing so fast. Great passing and suprisingly mobile on D. If she gets her head right and that seems to be happening she gives us three legit stars by London.

Cambage is clearly the future of the Opals. She has toned up, is quite a lot more fluid, is a step quicker than 12 months ago, and now has a feel for the game.

The scary thing is she will continue to improve dramatically for the next 3 or 4 years!

Bishop has just lost all confidence. Shakey even when wide open.

Put the cue in the rack Graffy. Studs in cotton wool. This ones over. Opals with a brilliant first half.

We have basically the same team backbone as Beijing and the last W/C. To this we have added Cambage and Ohea as legit scoring options and Richards, Grima and Tolo have shown they can cut it at this level. By London you would expect that they will have further improved and Batkovic would come back in for Bishop. We are in a great position to continue if not improve on this finest chapter in our basketball history.

Cambage is playing alot better this game, but she is a big work in progress.. she leads the tournament in tournovers for example.

That being said, seriously how bad are these refs.. they have been bad in just about every game the Aussies have played in so far

Agree about the refs. Also cant understand why there is one female and two males on every game. Surely with reffing gender is irrelevent. So is it just coincidence that there is one third of the refs here that are female. FFS shouldn't they just be the best refs available and if thats the case wouldn't they be much the same ones that did the men. Or is the womens tournament second rate. Would love some gender discrimination person to try and explain this logic to me.

The most exciting aspect of tonights game was the fact we had Tolo, Richards, Phillips and Bishop on the floor together and still held our own. O'hea has been very good and Cambage has the ability to dominate. Im not sure that Tully has much to give on box scores but maybe her experience around the group is valuable.

Ive never been a massive fan of Graf, but she has balanced her rotations really well so far, and i believe we are in a good position to have a decent crack from here on in.

i agree graf has done a good job with the rotations. tully's D is why she is there - box scores dont show hussle, screens and charges taken.

Australia won easily, 93-54.

Jackson had 20 points and 11 rebounds and Cambage had 20 of her own, both playing just 18 minutes. Taylor was next best with 12 points in 18 minutes as well. Phillips had 6 assists in 15 minutes.

Every Opal played at least 11 minutes, with nobody else playing more than 18 minutes except for Snell (24 min) who was given a chance for her to continue to blow out the rust following her return from injury.

Australia had 22 assists to 8, and murdered Greece on the boards 58-22. We shot more than 81% from the free throw line (26/32), and went 43% from the field.

As long as USA and Australia finish 1st or 2nd we will avoid the USA until a potential gold medal game. So if we beat France, it really does not matter whether we beat USA or not. Lose to France, and then USA becomes a must-win game.

Next up we play France tonight.
