There are a lot of good stadiums in Adelaide. If I was to pick the top 5 it would be:
1 The Dome
2 Wayville
3 Starplex
4 Mars
5 Pasadena

pasadena / wayville
morphett vale
mars
hills/ port
marion/ hillcrest
st clair
I would put
Pasadena .... now they have a good canteen
Wayville .... is good
The Dome .... not used enough
Mars .... no bar for ABL
Starplex .... Air con but too far away
The older stadiums
Port
Morphet vale
st clair
then the tin sheds rockets and souths
Note the top 5 where not built by the councils and are recently new the other 5 would have to be at least 25-30 years old?

Have to be joking!
Dome Crt 2 is shocking to coach on. Wayville leaks and Mars resembles a series of farmer's hay sheds. Albiet, the rest of the stadiums are complete shockers!
My Pick:
1. Starplex - Good courts, and the only air conditioned 4 court stadium. Off court canteen area, good viewing for spectators. Only problem is it is "too far away" for many Adelaideans who can't drive more than 5 minutes.
=2. Morphett Vale - 4 courts, well positioned bar/canteen area off court. Spectator viewing bit average. Need to put up better seating.
=2. Pasadena - 3 good courts, but someone went cheap on the bulk earthworks and left a step in the levels. Canteen, but no real off court area to talk to teams unless you're Sturt. Court 1 very good.
4. AHRC (Court 1 only) - good viewing, good stadium. Court 2 is an embarrassment and should only be used in the Public Liability insurance is up to date. In winter is a cold room.
5. Wayville (Autumn/Spring) Fix the roof, install air conditioning. In summer it is like a hot box and in winter during rainy days, you need a snorkel. Court floors are OK. Put in air con, fix the roof by installing the iron to the manufacturer's design spec to stop to leaks.
6. Mars. Maybe it's not that bad....but even Murray Bridge is better.
7. Port. Ok, the court floors are old packing crates, but at least you can get an egg and bacon roll, then go upstairs and have a beer.
8. Dome. Great playing surface for players. Court 1 and 3 OK to play on, but bad for spectators, Court 1 terrible for coaching. Only OK when 1 court is down.
=9. St Clair/MLC.
=12. Hillcrest/Marion. Say no more. OHS hazards galore. Just waiting for a kid to get impaled on something or get seriously injured. Both stadiums would find it hard to pass an adequate OHS inspection completed by a competent auditor.

depends on whether your ranking them from a playing or viewing perspective.
Playing would be:
1. Starplex
2. Wayville
3. Dome
4. Pasadena
5. Mars

I reckon the ranking criteria should include:
* Playing Surface, rings etc
* Proximity of hazards near the court
* Separation of courts (eg to avoid balls form one court to another)
* Lighting
* HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Control)
* Scoreboard
* Spectator seating
* Spectator vision
* Ability of spectators to move around court
* Area where teams can have post match chat
* Cool down area
* Canteen facilities
* Toilet facilities
* Car parking surface
* Car parking spaces
* Car parking lighting
The Stadium is not just the playing surface. If you look at the Stadiums used and look at all criteria above, there's a lot of gaps.

Haven't seen the renovated Morphett Vale yet.
Would be very interesting to see how the country stadiums measure up here.

The worst is by far, North Adelaide. My grandma lives on a 110 year old farm and she can put together a better structure. Its a dump people!

if morphett vale had a stand it would be up with the best ..... wonder whose decision it was to not do that when it was reno'd !

I don't know where the space has gone after the renos.
The dodgy old office block and the stand has gone which should means about 4 and a half courts, but there's barely room for 4 courts. Who stole all the space?

Your 2 best stadiums are at Starplex and Morphett Vale. Only problem is in both instances you can't guarantee that your car will still be in the car park after the game or not damaged. Plus I don't know if it is something in the water ............
Out of all the one court district stadiums Hillcrest is easily the best!!!!
Jack probably has a lot to do with the fact 3 of the 4 courts were undersized, one by a lot.

1. Starplex - 4 courts, Air con and benches on the side of all courts.
2. Morphett Vale - 4 courts, plenty of room, benches on the side of all courts.
3. Dome - Only let down is trying to coach from the end of court 2.
4. Wayville - Good set up, pity that it leaks.
5. Pasadena - Every time I play their they seem to have dead floor boards.
6. Mars - Norwood will hopefully be moving soon to a new home, Mars needs to be updated and reopen the bar.
7. Port Adelaide - Court 1 is ok but the other two need fixing.
8. Mt Barker - Same as P.A. just further away.
9. Marion & Hillcrest tied - Time to knock down the tin sheds and build new stadiums.

I thought that was the case. Either that, or Sturt stole the space..........(have to blame someone and they get the blame for everything : O )
