Least we eked out a win after playing very poorly. Ingles was solid late in the game and Andersen at least is money from the FT line, even if he looked really out of sorts in general play. Wortho was solid on Yi late in the game too, despite giving up a massive amount of size.

Final score was 64-63. Just saw the highlights on the Chinese news. Was a straight drive and dish from Mills to Andersen. Chinese over-committed and Andersen got good position on his man.

Baynes had a couple of nice highlights. I like his body strength, which is severely lacking in all our other bigs at this tournament. Don't know if he can shoot or keep his cool, but built a little like Vlahov. Would be good news for the Boomers if he proves to be two thirds as good as the former Wildcat.

Anon, I agree about attacking the basket. We either settled for threes or missed good opportunities to drive all night. I think we should be looking to drive and hit Newley and Ingles on hard cuts more often than not, but players need to get their timing right. Andersen and Nielsen and Wortho will get a lot better opps to score once the defence is out of position as well.

We looked really disjointed and I must say I was quite surprised with a number of things including; the starting lineup and Barlow used sparingly (particular in first half).

Brown is probably giving guys an opportunity for playing time now to work out his World Championships rotations, but I think Gibson looked the better of Martin and Markovic IMO in last night's game.

And I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiments of many others in that we needed to drive the ball and take it to the rack far more than we did in last night's game. Ingles, Newley and Barlow are slashers and are far better utilised in getting them slashing to the basket.
