Mark Tyndale hits game winner in Summer League

Mark Tyndale hit a 3-pointer over two defenders as the buzzer sounded to give the D-League Stars team a 79-78 win over the Clippers in the final game of the NBA Vegas Summer League at the Thomas & Mack Center on Sunday night. The D-League team had plenty of time when the possession began, but the ball was knocked into the backcourt. Tyndale retrieved it and dribbled through traffic before launching the desperation heave just before the buzzer. It swished right through the net, setting off a celebration in the crowd.

Even the NBA TV broadcast team jumped up in jubilation and started slapping high-fives with the triumphant players.

Tyndale finished with 19 points, while Mike Gansey and Curtis Withers each recorded double-doubles. Gansey had 15 points and 10 rebounds and Withers added 14 and 10.

The Clippers led by as many as 20 points and the D-League team trailed by 12 entering the final period. Al-Farouq Aminu paced Los Angeles with a game-high 21 points.

I always have wondered if Tyndale would be worth another go in the NBL, he wasnt that bad, was young, in consistent and seemed to lose abit of confidence, and at the time we needed a more dominant player and Hodge became available so it was seemingly a no brainer. But even guys like Lisch struggled and was inconsistent and his stats are not that much better than what Tyndale was producing, i always thought if we could have used him as a 3rd or 4th option on offence and stuck with him for a few years he could turn out pretty decent.

Tyndale replaced by Hodge - who was here for about a month , then replaced by Grizzard, that season.
Should have kept him, really - for later , our experienced players came back from injury.
The next season we went Gilchrist Groves - finished bottom.
