The Crocs will announce shortly that they have signed 6ft 6inch american import, Gabe Freeman.
He has spent 2 years in the Philipines Basketball Assoc where he averaged 20.8ppg & 10.6rpg. He was named the Import of the year there recently.

watched higligths looks like a good player hopefully he can be a long term player for the NBL and crocs would have to see him better than homicide if they release him and sign freeman

Watched him last year in the ABL finals. I thought his game lacked consistancy. He shot the rock a lot, which wasnt that accurate. He will struggle with the new 3 point line.
He got so many rebounds because his competition in the Philliphines isn't that big. His defence is good and he works well.
I can't see him posting any great numbers with the solid defence he will have to contest with in the NBL compared to the PBA.

Freeman will play both forward positions. Just because Blanchfield is listed as a back up four doesnt mean he will play there!!!!!!!! Freeman switches to the four and Blanchfield plays at 3, although he is likely to play limited minutes this year, you would think.
The Crocs have a lot of versatility with guys who can play multiple positions, will be interesting - given they have Croswell - to see if their import is a combo or point guard.
Dont expect Freeman to be a superstar, but his rebounding, athleticism and defence are exactly what the Crocs need.

Anon - the EJ Rowland rumours was a Townsville Bully taking an off the cuff remark by Gleeson as truth... Trev said we need a point guard like EJ Rowland and it took off from there.
EJ is playing in Europe and has a dual citizenship in Bulgaria (i think?) and played on their national team in the Euro championships. Was close to the All Euro team!

To put some of these Crocs player into one spot in a list is not doing them justice. So many of them will rotate around and play multiple positions.
The starters will most likely be Import, Cedar, Crawford, Hinder & Schenscher.
I'm really liking the way this team is coming together, especially as we lost Tovey and Hoare in situations where we thought they would be back this season.
said he played at Orange Coast College, thats where Steve Spencer is head coach, fromer assistant to Dunlap at the 6ers and North Adelaide coach.
