Aleks Maric named Serbian League MVP

Australian centre Aleks Maric's stellar European season was not only capped off by a grand final series win this past week, but he also was named Serbian League Most Valuable Player!

This follows Maric's major influence in his PArtizan team making thier way through to the Euroleague Final Four, winning the Adriatic League title and

Also on a side note, Maric was the main instigator in a fight that broke out in game 2 of the grand final series - a game in which he had 18 points despite being ejected! The team they beat in that game forfeited game 3 and thus handed the title to Partizan!

This is a great rubber stamp for his efforts this past season, one that required him to fight back from injury and return to his stellar form.

Maric will be an impoprtant piece of the Boomers puzzle in this year's World Championships...let's hope he can carry his outstanding European form through for the Boomers.

Fantastic News! What would his NBA prospects be like?? surely he would have a few teams interested with the way he has been playing.

One would think that a few NBA teams would be checking him out. He still may need to back up his past season with another standout year to really be knocking on the NBA door.

Thanks for the update on Maric, LC. He certainly has had an impressive year. I wonder if there is any chance we can rush him into the Boomers team against Argentina? If he is going to be a lynchpin on the World Championships team, it would be good to get him playing with the other guys ASAP. Especially if Jawai will only be able to play limited minutes.

Im with you on the whole rest for Maric,

id Prefer a rested maric then an over worked tired Maric

Still plenty of time to bond and gel with the rest of the team
