NBA Draft Lottery 2010

Tonight in the US sees the NBA Draft Lottery and ESPN has their little mock draft tool as usual: ESPN Mock Lottery.

Who do you think will get top pick?

I ran the ESPN thing once and it came up Golden State (10.4% chance).

I think the #1 pick should go to NJ or Minnesota, but I reckon this year one of the teams with minimal chance of getting their ball to drop may sneak the first pick...a team like Houston for example.

Mr John Wall is a 99% lock on being taken with the #1 pick in any case.

Well... My initial reaction (as a Wolves fan) is: "I am about done with the NBA."

Call me a nutter - but i am increasingly questioning the "purity" of the draft lottery.

Wall wont go to wizards unless they trade arenas. Evan Turner No.1 pick followed by Derrick Favors then John Wall to NJ nets.

Gilberts going nowhere. He will be playing the 2 guard position, after all he is 6-6 tall.

I don't even think the fans want Arenas to play for the Wizards again.

No he will be in Washington next year playing Shooting gard, if you watch todays interview with wizards president Ernie Grunfeld, he comfirms Arenas will be there next season. Plus just cause he had an incident with a gun in the locker room doesn't mean he's off the team, its basketball we get his entertainment from. Any other team in the league will persue him straight away and he will be successfull there.

Poor John Wall, he'll be spewing if he ends up in Washington. Unless the Wizards can somehow find a GM stupid enough to take on Arenas cap-killing contract, Wall is going to have to try to co-exist with an undersized SG who needs the ball a lot to be effective. At least he'll get another top 5 draft pick to play with the following season!

New Jersey can still be pretty happy with finishing 3rd though, because they'll probably get either Turner of Favors, either of whom they could use. Favors would give them a pretty good frontcourt to grow together. They'd just have to find a new home for Yi!

Will be interesting to see what Minny does. I think they have 3 first rounders, so perhaps they can package them to move up a bit if necessary. Jefferson is another big trading chip too, since it looks like he doesn't fit Kahn's plans.

So do the Wolves trade Jefferson and take Cousins maybe? Or go for that scoring wing they need like Al-Farouq or Wes Johnson? Depending on what they do I think they could improve their team quite a lot.

If they persevere with Jefferson and Love for now, they could compliment Brewer (who I think is finally coming on and seems like a real competitor) with a pretty athletic scoring wing.
