Someone said it was their best win in ten years.

The competition needs 10 strong teams, so well done

Awesome effort by Woodvile. It's probably been many years since the last time Woodvile beat North... wonder if all is well in the North camp? hmm?

Well done by Woodville. Have heard that things aren't good in the North camp. South also beat Eastern on the weekend. Would appear self-destruction has arrived a little earlier than first anticipated up the hill.

Dont know that you can call the south defeat over eastern self destruction, south played a good game and until Tess gets some back up every team has a chance to beat eastern.
Madgen is the top of the league but basketball needs 5 players on the court at one time, stop madgen... stop eastern OR stop the rest and madgen cant do it all on her own

Tess is protected species and should be done for several charges a game. That said, when mavs get their juniors back, south won't get near them. If any team is headed towards self destruction its souths, where the tail is wagging the dog at the moment much the same as the players did to woodvilles mens coach.

Aren't all Lightning/WNBL players a protected species?

Hell no chops!

Gotta play for the teams that are meant to be top 5 to be protected.

Woodville women can build on this they have a good young team and are a united team. Wherein the past they have had a few non team individuals. Lynne has nutured majority of these girls through their junior careers. Woodville deride Lynne, who quite well respected outside of the club she loves so much. Maybe a few of those players who have gone have not been able to look in the mirror and blame their lack of defence, their lack of fitness, or dedication for the lack of court time rather than blame the person in charge. Lynne has always had to fight a battle against her own club, and have always appointed her for one year terms. Rather than consider that Lynne was the only one available, they could have or should have considered that Lynne is a good development coach. Appointments for one year smack of well if someone comes up next year we need to be free to look at them. Rather than we have the confidence in you here is a two year contract. Players then know the club has confidence in its coach, and don't look to the end of the season to see who may replace them.

Well done to the players, but we done Lynne and her coaching team.

You've got to be kidding anon. Regardless of whether she's developed players or not, she's lead Woodville to the bottom three on the ladder probably every season since she arrived, which was years ago. She has done nothing and still the committee reappoints her year-in, year-out. Woodville have lost a lot of good players over the years and I don't blame them for leaving - the committee should be embarrassed of their decisions!

Who are the good players that have gone elsewhere? Are they the players who beat North on the weekend? Obviously not!

Spot on Chops. The Committee have made some shocking decisions and should be accountable. It is funny you don't hear clubs like Sturt or Norwood getting a bagging on here for the Decisions that are made by their Committee's.

This thread was about congratulating the girls on their win.

Sucessful clubs, sucessful managers, sucessful whatever attract their share of criticism with Sturt it comes in bashing them because they are so good, or so sucessful. A premier or prime minister who has been in for an extended term begins to garner criticism because they have been their too long.the criticsim becomes worse if the economy is bad or people lose their jobs. Criticism is a way of life.

less sucessful clubs fight the losing battle of people wanting it to be better but often being part of the problem not part of the solution. It is always easier if your team loses for it to be the problems of the committee, the refs, the waterboy, the coach. After all if the coach had the right players on, and if the ref hadn't called that foul, your team wouldn't have lost by 40 points. So ergo it is everyone elses fault so I won't try to help improve my team by attending trainings or putting in a effort at training, or as a coach by bettering myself by further training, I will simply blame others then I'll move to another club because clearly the problem does not lie with me.

Therefore when clubs are unsucessful there is more criticisms, because losing isn't the best thing in the world and for someone to win there has to be to be a loser.

Perhaps we all put too much emphasis on winning and not enough emphasis on enjoying the game.

one win does not make a championship - why is so much made of one win - bag your bags when you win consistently
what committee got to do with coaching performance anyway and so on stop the negative focus on next game and improving amazing lose some and world turns aka crows and who get blamed the coach andd committee for everything - einsteins some people
maybe can only be 50% number of winner in a 50 50 contest

If anyone was at the game, North were completely smashed by Woodville's guards - not even being able to get the ball over the half court. I think the biggest question to be asked of the Rockets is - what ever happened to all their players?

Warriors could be on a rare two game winning streak with tigers to follow.F ull credit to hardest working coach in comp on her dev - results are coming.Great to see faith being repaid and hopefully extending her run to see light at the end of the tunnel. Long time coming but beating class act like Nort and to take tigers be 2 very good feathes in cap

Woodville's performances are on the up but it was always going to be tough at southern for them with their top scorer last week against North having a career best which is unlikely to be repeated until the next blue moon.
