Bogut just broke his arm

Bogut on the break went up for a dunk, his momentum carried him forward and he landed on his back/arm, hard.

Dtoudemire just barely pushed on his back, they're calling it a flagrant but it wasn't malicious at all

It looked so uncoordinated, he really should have been able to catch himself.

i'm sad ;___;

From Bucks Medical Staff Doctor Gery Wolfel:

Andrew Bogut has slightly dislocated elbow. X_rays show no broken bones. Will have additional tests.

He is off to the hospital for tests

Vid here

I am in shock

Lost his grip on the ring after completing an open court fast break. Landed on his elbow. Had too much forward momentum.

Cringe worthy footage, you know it hurts.

That's awful. And horrible timing for him and the Bucks too.

Broken hand, dislocated elbow and sprained wrist is the diagnosis.

Very bad news for Bogut and the playoff-bound Bucks. They have now lost their on-court leader and although they are stil competitive, will now struggle to win playoff games without him.

Does this mean he is a better chance of playing for Oz at the WC's???

That was my thought too LC, though it may just be wishful thinking. But if he takes 3 months to recover from these injuries, he would be ready to go by July and the rest of his body would have received a much nedded rest, particularly his troublesome back. He will also now avoid the gruelling playoff series. Horrible news for both he and the Bucks, but in terms of a WC appearance, this may just be the 'shot in the arm' that he needed. Here's hoping.

From ESPN today:

"Team officials said Bogut is expected to need six weeks to recover before he can begin full rehabilitation, essentially ruling him out for the season."

Australia center Andrew Bogut of the Milwaukee Bucks had successful surgery on his fractured right hand on Monday and will now wait six weeks before he begins his rehabilitation.

Ilyasova and Bogut are expected to be prominent players for their countries at the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey, which tips off on August 28.

Really good article for stats nerds on what a defensive monster Bogut was this year. If he keeps this up, Howard will need to watch out in 2010-11.
