Summer Finals time

Summer finals start this week and looking at the Div 1 and Div 2 U12 to U18, it's good to see a spread of clubs involved in week 1 action.

As expected, all of these divs have a Sturt team contesting the flag in both the boys and girls comps. (19 of the 64 are Sturt teams) Eagles (14 of the 64) are doing very well in the girls side with plenty of minor premierships. It seems all clubs except Woodville have at least one team in week 1.

While there are some hot favourites in certain divisions, it's no guarantee of a flag and finals pressure is when the best players rise to the occasion.

Good luck to all teams in their race for the flag.

before magic, woodville and west regularly won a div 2-3-4 title - then magic started winning these.

16 one boys had some excitement mavs and sturt going head to head both teams depleted. mavs leading by 5 in the fourth sturt coming home strong by 2 mavs missing the last shot. forestville and norwood messy game eagles blew it out after half. sturt to win final

Oh the big Southern v Eastern re-match, maybe a bit of fire in this one? Especially after the 'forfeit' fiasco.

Southern too good for our sturt kids in 18 boys. Saw the end of mavs -forestville game before us and Mavs up by 20 odd then took foot off the pedal. Key for southern is to hope Mavs start slowly as they quite often do, get a lead and hold it. Don't like the fact southern play a zone. Mavs will eat that with their shooters. We sturt didn't have a 3 point shooter - simple as that. Should be a gr8 game.

Under 18 Boys Given Strurt still have about 5 players in the State Squad and the Tigers one I would have thought Sturt should have some 3 point shooters given the Tigers have 4

Sturt only have 3 I think left in state. Southern more passionate from what I saw. Their kids have improved a fair bit and well coached. Sturt to 1 dimensional. same mistakes over and over.

Forestville to win the 16s final, played well in summeer season and have a fit team.

Southern will have a real chance in the U18 boys with a number of Eastern players going down with injury on the weekend.

mavs by far the best side with their full side, ecspecially in the winter season with forestvilles best player moving to the mavs but this friday should be close with the mavs down to 6 or 7 players

southern won by 2 points in the 18 boys very tight game but southern were the better team on the day and well done to them.

Sturt won the 18 girls comfortably.

Sturt also won 16 girls and boys in very tight games, ecspecially the girls game which went into overtime.
