Aussie NBA Watch - 2009/10 Season

With all the threads being started up regarding Andrew Bogut, David Andersen and Nathan Jawai (and hopefully Patty mills soon), I thought we could contain all the updates to just 1 thread to make it easier to track.

Bogut and the Bucks fell by just 2 points in OT to a Nowitzki dagger at the buzzer today.

In 39min, Bogut shot 6/12 from the field for 13 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 2 turnovers.

I was a bit disappointed in Bogies performance today. I thought he would have been able to exploit Dallas' lack of size. Even worse it looks as though he was outplayed by Drew Gooden!!

Hopefully, he bounces back to form against Brook Lopez in a couple of days. That should be a very good match up for Bogie. Hopefully he show's the young fella a thing or two and keep the Nets winless.

Btw, I agree with a lot of the previous posts that the Bucks should look to unload Redd prior to the trade deadline and rebuild around the guys that are playing at the moment + whatever they get in return, etc.

Good idea, but the 1 thread will quickly dissapear from the front page, thus only a few will view/contribute.

Alot of people saying Redd should be moved on, on the flip side the guy can score, if you can't get anyone to take his ridiculous salary use him as a punch scorer off the bench, the guy could/can still shoot the ball damn well! Just dont let him run your offense ;)

Another Bucks win who are now 6-3 to start the season.

David Andersen had just 12min and scored 2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and no turnovers in that time in a win over the Kings.

If he got more time he could do a lot more...

Jawai had 9min off the bench and went 1/1 from the field and 3/3 from the line. His sole basket was an 'and-one' on Greg Oden. After making his free throw he got subbed out! He also had 2 rebounds, 1 block and 1 turnover in that time. He got subbed out just as he made a good play...why not keep him in? Did not make sense. T-Wolves got dumped by the Blazers.

Bogut's Bucks beat the Grizzlies to keep their winning run going. They have now won their last two without Bogut, and Redd is still not back in the line-up yet.

Andrew Bogut is set to return for the Bucks in the game against the Bulls.

ESPN: http://linky.com.au/fgk80

"Bogut says he's "pretty much" pain-free and eager to return to help the Bucks, who have lost four straight games."

And with Redd back in the lineup over the past few games...can the Bucks gel together and reignite their winning ways when Bogut was healthy? Hope they can.

And with Bogut back in the line-up, guess what? Michel Redd is out again with a knee injury and will miss the Buck's next 2 road games at least. Mbah a Moute is also still missing in action with a sprained ankle and Luke Ridnour is a day to day proposition with a saw hammy.

The Bucks lost to the Wizard's in a heart breaker today, 102-104.

Bogut has 14 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks with no turnovers heading into OT so far on 4 fouls.

Bogut had a great all-round game, scoring 16 points on 6/16 shooting (4/6 FT) along with 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 3 blocks and no turnovers in 39 minutes of action.

Minnesota got spanked by the Clippers, going down 95-120. Nathan Jawai got a decent run, scoring 9 points on 4/10 shooting (1/3 FT) along with 7 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 block and 1 tutrnover in 18 minutes. Although in junk time, it was a great performance nonetheless.

David Andersen played an awesome game today despite the Rockets losing to the Nuggets,

Andersen was smoking hot, scoring 17 points on 6/8 shooting, including 3/4 from downtown and 2/2 from the line. He also had 9 rebounds and 2 turnovers in just 21 minutes. He missed a triple with just 2 seconds to go in the game that would have given a new career-high in scoring.

If he average "just 3 turnovers" he would be the second worst cetnre in the league in that category. OK - so a lot of stuff runs through him and he does make a lot more assists than most centres but i would like to see him keep it to 1 or 2.

Houston today lost to Orlando 87-102. David Andersen got plenty of court time but not many shots off. He went scoreless on 0/3 shooting and had 4 rebounds and 1 steal, 5 fouls with no turnovers in 20 minutes.

Minnesota managed to notch up a win over New Jersey 103-99. Nathan Jawai played 7 minutes and scored 2 points on 1/3 shooting to go with 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 turnover. It definitely looks like Jawai has leap-frogged Pecherov for minutes and appears to be more in favour compared to Cardinal as well - which bodes well for big Nate. He is still behind Hollins in the rotations though...

I was watching the play by play - in Q2 Andersen went 3-4 and 4 rebounds in 7 minutes...then saw no action during the entire 3rd, got 4 mins in the 4th for 0 points on 0-2 and a turnover. Seriously, what gives Rick Adelman? dude looked to be playing well in Q2, should've left him on.

The Rockets had a 12 point lead in Q2 and Andersen and other bench players were helping consolidate that, then the starters came back on in Q3 and squandered it.

I save a special "on it's own" post for the Bucks win over the Warriors today, 113-104.

Bogut had a great all-round game, scoring 15 points on 7/15 shooting including 1/2 on free throws. He also had 16 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks, and no turnovers in 37 minutes.

He also had this massive dunk!

But the game made news for other reasons - Gold State ran out of players! The Warriors, who entered the game with just eight players in uniform, lost Anthony Morrow to a knee injury and had three others foul out, leaving coach Don Nelson with only four players. Under NBA rules, Stephen Curry -- the last Golden State player to foul out -- was allowed to return for the final four seconds. Where amazing happens!

I'm currently in San Francisco and having watched the Bucks vs Warriors live on tv, my opinion the Bucks are really not that great, I take my hat off to Bogut, he is not flash but gets the job done and to be honest if the Warriors had more bodies, it would have been a very different game, but hey we don't play the game in if/but's or maybes.
The dunk Bogut threw down was huge and the guy he did it on had a nasty bloody eye for the rest of the game.

Patty Mills and the Idaho Stampede took on Luke Nevill's Utah Flash yesterday, with Idaho getting the win 112-106 in OT.

Mills had a poor shooting night, scoring 21 points on 5/19 shooting, including 2/9 on three's but 9/10 from the line. He also had 2 rebounds, a game-high 6 assists, 2 steals and 3 turnovers in playing 36 minutes.

Luke Nevill continued his great D-League form, scoring 18 points on 9/14 shooting that included 0/1 from ther line. He also had 6 rebounds, 1 assist and no turnovers in his 30 minutes of action.

I would hope and expect Nevill gets called up to an NBA team on a 10-day contract as he deserves it. If Schenscher can get a call-up from the D-League, then Nevill who is putting up far better numbers than big Luke ever did should surely get a crack at some stage.

In the NBA today, the Bogut and the Bucks play the Raptors, Jawai and the T-Wolves take on the Thunder, and the Mills-less Blazers face the 76ers.

In the D-League today, Luke Nevill is in action once again for the Utah Flash against the Reno Bighorns.

The T-Wolves lost a close one to the Thunder, 92-94. Jawai scored 2 points on 1/2 shooting and also had 2 rebounds, 1 assist and no turnovers in 8 minutes of court time off the bench.

Portland defeated Philly 98-90, and unfortunately for Patty, all three of Miller, Blake and Mayo played well.

Saw yesterday's Bucks game and it was fun to watch. Although the Bucks lost, they appear to have come out of their slump and are playing well again.

Dallas played at a very high level and kept landing punches, but the Bucks kept coming at them. In the end, Dallas just has better offensive options in Dirk and Terry, but the Bucks really aren't far away.

Bogut played really well and was going basket for basket with Dirk/ Terry late. What got the Bucks in the end was that Dirk and Terry make their FT's, whereas Bogut struggles from the line.

Also, Delfino had a good chance to win it at the end, but hey, it was Delfino. Delf actually got the ball on the 3 point line, top of the key. Bogut screened his man off nicely, leaving Delfino guarded by Mr Concrete Feet Dampier. If they had a clutch guard, there would have been a couple of dribbles to get Damp on his heels and then straight up with the shot, nothin but net!

Still, the most important thing is that Bogut is finally showing the ability that led the Bucks to draft him #1. Even better, he is playing on a hard working, unselfish team that is fun to watch.

It was a very good game by Bogut, he looked extremely competent and comfortable all game - Dirk, Dampier and Marion had no answer to his game at all. Also, his two man game with Jennings is getting better and better and is a pleasure to watch. With one other complementary scoring SG replacing Redd, the Bucks would be legit.

I think they need a little more than a SG. They really need an upgrade at all of the other three spots. The guys they have would be ideal coming off the bench. Unless they get an All Star calibre player in one of those positions I think they are a few years off being contenders.

Just worked out why Jawai was not in action today, he has been assigned to the D-League!

Link: http://linky.com.au/x7gvc

This will provide an opportunity for Nate to play 30 minutes per game on back-to-back nights and be the focal point of an offense," said David Kahn, Timberwolves' President of Basketball Operations. "It will help us and Nate evaluate where he is with his conditioning and long-term potential in the NBA. We expect to have Nate rejoin us after the weekend."

So it looks like Jawai will be expected to play a couple of 30 minute games and assist with his conditioning and offence and be back with the T-Wolves next week...

Yesterday in the NBA, the Bucks beat the Bobcats 93-88. Bogut recorded another double-double, scoring 18 points on 8/18 shooting that also included 2/4 from the line. He also had 13 rebounds, 4 assists, a massive 5 blocks but 5 turnovers in playing out 41 minutes. Another fine all-round performance by the Bogeyman!

The Rockets lost to the Pacers 115-125. David Andersen continues to get good burn, scoring 6 points on 2/9 shooting, missing his only 3 point attempt and nailing 2/4 from the line. He also had a massive 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block and no turnovers in 22 minutes of action.

In the D-League, the Utah Flash lost to Iowa Energy 112-126. Luke Nevill scored 14 points on 7/9 shooting as a starter. He also had 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block and 3 turnovers in 28 minutes of game time.

Nathan Jawai played back-to-back games for the Sioux Falls Skyforce against the Dakota Wizards after being reassigned by the T-Wolves. He was scheduled to play just the back-to-back home games and then return to the T-Wolves. In the first game, the Skyforce won 119-118. Jawai scored 6 points on 3/7 shooting missing both free throw attempts. He also recorded 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 turnovers in just over 29 minutes on court. In the second game yesterday, Jawai recorded eerily similar stats, scoring 6 points on 2/5 shooting and nailing both his free throws in coming off the bench. He also had 3 rebounds, 1 assist but also 3 turnovers in just over 19 minutes of action.

Today in the NBA, the Rockets take on the Hornets, The T-Wolves take on the Thunder, and the Blazers tackle on the Jazz.

From what I've noticed, Andersen usually enters late in Q1 or at the start of Q2, usually for 8 or so minutes. Usually gets a run at the start of Q4 too. Yesterday Hayes had 4 fouls which may explain why Andersen got a little extra - he wasn't in during the burn time except for 20 seconds or so after Scola fouled out.

How good is Bogut doing? if you look at the rebounds/blocks stat lines he gets every game, he's got to be in the running for all defensive team this season...

Bobby - Bogut has to compete for Mr Howard for the centre spot though and I can't see it happening...

Noticed the same about the game time Andersen gets...although I have noticed he usually plays the most of the 2nd quarter and normally starts on court.

Today the Rockets were down by about 12 5 minutes into the 2nd quarter, so Andersen got yanked out and Adelman put most of the starters back in. The unfortunate thing for D.A. is Adelman prefers Hayes for the center spot because of his defense, so even though Andersen is capable of about 10 and 6 in about 20 minutes game time, Hayes usually gets priority.

The Bucks dismantled the Knicks at MSG today, and it was Aussie Andrew Bogut that led the way with a massive 24-20 double-double in the 83-67 victory.

Bogut had a monster first half in which he posted a double-double comprised of 18 points and 12 rebounds to go with 2 blocks.

He finished with game-highs of 24 points on 12/15 shooting, 20 rebounds, and 5 blocks in 36 minutes of action. It was Bogut's third career 20-20 game, and 3rd straight game where he has recorded 5 blocks and clearly outplayed the Knick's Lee.

The Bucks entered the game trailing 8th place in the East by 1 game...if they keep their recent form going, the playoffs are well within reach.

Bogut is making a mockery of his All-Star snub!

Yeah seriously, how Lee got in is a mystery. Bogut is killing it - he is second in blocks per game and if he keeps up, could end up leading the league. A spot on the All NBA second team can't be out of the question either.

The Blazers defeated the Raptors 101-87. Patty Mills got subbed in for the final minute of the game, but did not record a single stat. At least he was thought of, I guess???

The T-Wolves played the Hawks and lost 92-98. Nathan Jawai did not see any action. Anyone know what the deal is apart for the fact Darko Milicic has joined the team?

The Bucks took on the Hornets and kept their great form going on the road, winning 115-95. Bogut was once again the catalyst for the win, easily outplaying Okafor and yet again racked up some big numbers despite the bench getting their chance in junk time (about the last 9min of the game!). Bogut recorded game-highs of 26 points on 13/20 shooting and 13 rebounds. He also had 1 assist, 2 blocks and 2 turnovers in playing 30 minutes. He just keeps on producing, and if the Bucks can keep notching up these road victories, they may yet end up securing the 6th seed in the East and not just the 8th!

The Rockets lost to the Magic but David Andersen had another serviceable game. He scored 8 points on 3/7 shooting, nailing 2/3 from downtown. He also had 5 rebounds and 1 block in playing 24 minutes.

The Bucks continue to win on the road, today accounting for Indiana 112-110. He also recorded 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks and 3 turnovers in just 25 minutes of action.

The bucks now have a better than 50% record and are 29-28 overall on the season. It was also the first time since 1997 that the Bucks have won 5 games in a row!

Great article on Andrew Bogut from the Journal Sentinel...

Link: http://linky.com.au/zpbgd

The last time Andrew Bogut appeared in the playoffs, he was a 20-year-old rookie just learning the ways of the pro game.

Now fast forward five years to the current season, and the 7-foot Milwaukee Bucks center is a much more polished player.

He's rejecting shots with authority and finishing on the fast break.

He's throwing down some powerful dunks that are bringing his teammates off the bench to scream and shout, as they did on a two-handed monster jam he applied over Indiana's Brandon Rush on Thursday night.

And he's leading in the locker room and on the court with directions and encouragement for a suddenly rejuvenated band of Bucks.

The Bucks today won their 6th straight game in thrashing the Wade-less Miami Heat 94-71. Andrew Bogut only had to score 8 points on 4/10 shooting (0/1 free throws) alongside 10 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1 turover in playing 30 minutes.

The Blazers beat the T-Wolves 110-91. Whilst there was no sign of Nathan Jaway, Patty Mills got som action. He played just 4 minutes but went 3/5 from the field (0/1 from downtown) and hit 2/2 from the line to finish with a new career high of 8 points but had no other stats.

The Rockets got dumped 110-133 by the Jazz. David Andersen scored just 2 points on 1/5 shooting alongside 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 turnovers in 11 minutes.

Yeah it was a great game by Andersen. He shot the ball really well. I think the Rockets coaching staff are using Andersen on a 'horses for courses' policy hence his fluctuating court time from game to game.

The Blazers signing of Diener is a real puzzler. Portland already have an up and coming young PG in Patty Mills - who can already do everything Diener does plus he has more upside to his game! If the Blazers are not going to give Patty a chance to develop and see some minutes, then I would rather they trade him to a team that needs a PG.

No aussies in NBA action today.

The Bucks defeated the Wizards comfortably, 100-87. Andrew Bogut scored 15 points on 5/10 shooting (5/6 FT) to go with an uncharacteristically low 2 rebounds! He also recorded 4 assists, 1 steal, a massive 5 blocks and pleasing to see no turnovers in playing out 32 minutes of the game.

The T-Wolves lost to the Mav's 109-112. Nathan Jawai saw no action.

The Rockets lost to the Kings 81-84. David Andersen played a good game in the time he spent on court, scoring 8 points on 2/5 shooting, including going 1/1 from downtown and hitting 3/4 from the line. He also had 3 rebounds and 1 turnover in just 11 minutes on court - I thought he should have got more time!

The Blazers defeated the Pacers easily, 102-79. Patty Mills was injected into the game late, going 0/3 from the field and failing to score in 6 minutes. And whilst there were no turnovers involved, he didn't record any other stats apart from a foul.

Andrew Bogut came up wth the goods yet again with another double-double today in leading the Bucks to a big win over the Wizards.

Bogut had 14 & 8 at the half and ensured the Bucks enjoyed a 15 point lead. He ended with an equal game-high 19 points on 8/14 shooting that included 3/4 from the line. He also pulled down 10 rebounds, dished out 4 assists, rejected a massive 5 shots and had 2 turnovers in 30 minutes of action - despite sitting out the entire 4th quarter!

He also had a massive alley-oop jam over JaVale McGee on the break in the first half...check it out in the higlights.

Believe it or not, the Bucks are now within sight of the 5th seed in the East, and are second to the Cav's in the Central division. Hoewever they have a string of tough games coming up, with Cleveland, Utah and Boston at home.

I the D-League, Luke Nevill had a rare quiet game in a loss against the Reno Bighorns. He had just 4 points on 2/5 shooting alongside 2 rebounds, 1 steal, 2 blocks and 1 turnover in 23 minutes on court.

And it was Aussie centre Andrew Bogut who once again led the way for the surging Bucks who are now 3 games clear of the Bulls in the Central Division, and 1 game ahead of Toronto in 5th place in the Eastern Conference standings.

I've really enjoyed watching Skiles team this year. They move the ball well and with purpose on offence and they do a good job of sending their man towards the help on defence - always a good thing when you have Bogut there to challenge the shot!

Plus, check out the small piece on NBA.com's 5 on the Rise today with the focus purely on Andrew Bogut titled "Five years into career, Bucks' Bogut living up to hype".

NBA link: http://linky.com.au/lol06

This from the article:

Pick a game last week and Bogut delivered. Against Cleveland at home? How about 15 points, nine rebounds and two blocks in a victory. KG and Co. came to town? No problem for Bogut, who was even better than he was against the Cavs, putting up 25 points, 17 rebounds, four blocks and, of course, that rub-your-eyes-in-disbelief dunk over Glen Davis. It's not just offense with Bogut, though; He's already set a career high in blocked shots (141) and is the No. 2 shotblocker in the league (trailing only Dwight Howard). He's also among the league leaders in Defensive Plays, a stat cooked up by the number-crunchers over at HoopData.com. The Defensive Plays stat is a player's average score of steals, blocks and charges drawn per game. Bogut has a 4.06 per game average and is the third-best player in the league (he trails only Josh Smith and Howard in the category). All that aside, we'll just let his coach explain in much simpler terms why Bogut is better this season. "One thing he needed to do, which he's done, is improve his foul shooting (now 63 percent)," Skiles told USA Today "He's throwing in these big block (shot) games, as well. He's always been a very good defensive rebounder. His back-to-the-basket game is coming along. He's able to get more opportunities."

Article in Patty Mills posted on the Blazers website: http://linky.com.au/kj11v

At 21 years old, Patty Mills has played a grand total of 25 minutes in his NBA career. Not exactly a surprise considering the circumstances. Starting your career with a broken foot while looking up the depth chart at Andre Miller, Steve Blake and Jerryd Bayless is a recipe for a season spent primarily on the bench. But while some players in his position might curse their lot, Mills is making the most of the situation by keeping a close eye on the players who are currently in the position he wants to be in.

"First season I wasn't expecting too much obviously," said Mills, “but I really feel like being alongside Andre Miller, picking a piece of his mind daily, is important for me. I feel like I’m learning a lot, not only talking to him but by watching him and analyzing his game.”

FIBA.com have run a feature article on Andrew Bogut, discussing his NBA form and the likelihood of him suiting up for the Boomers at the 2010 World Champs.

Link: http://linky.com.au/0sz6f

From the artyicle, this in particular caught my attention:

"He's (Bogut) been fantastic in regards to communicating with me (about the national program)," Brown said.

“He’s been very candid about his situation at the moment being up in the air, we’re not sure how his back is going to hold up.

“(Basketball Australia) are trying to do everything we can to help him with resources with our strength and conditioning coaches that he’s comfortable with. Anything that we can do to get him with the team is our main focus. He is the crown and jewel of our Boomer program and we really hope we can have him with us.

“His performance and his statistics to date are positives but it’s a long season for him. I really want to coach him and I hope that we can have him with us.

“That final decision is going to be Andrew’s and we support him in that decision. He is passionate about representing Australia and helping his teammates get to a higher level on the world stage. He’s got some decisions to make like all these NBA players that play eight or nine months in a row.”

I hope Bogut can pull through the NBA season in good shape and remain healthy throughout the NBA playoffs. Without the Bogeyman in the middle, our chances of a top 8 finish go down substantially IMO despite Australia's depth at the centre spot.

DP
4. Andrew Bogut, Bucks: I admit, I was late getting on the bandwagon of the Bogut-led Bucks. Now the league's second-leading shot-blocker (2.51) is a DPOY and MIP candidate, and I even thought about putting him at No. 10 for MVP. (Last week: 2)

The T-Wolves got absolutely pulverised by the Suns today and were left standing without any pants on. Well they may as well has been pants-less as they got humbled 152-114 in a game where defense was nowhere to be seen.

In a way, I'm thankful that Jawai did not play any part of it as he did not even step foot onto the court. But it does pose the question why he didn't see any action at all. Milicic went from a player who didn't get any minutes to a starter. Pecherov saw action as well ahead of Jawai. Not sure what Rambis is up to...

Tomorrow, the T-Wolves have to turn it around quickly against the Jazz. The Bucks take on the Clippers, gunning for win number 7 in a row, whilst The Rockets take on the Grizzlies.

Oh well at least i don't need to watch the game so badly now... I don't think Rambis cares about results anymore - just getting as many chances to pick up the no 1 or no 2 pick as possible (Evan Turner/John Wall - either would be a franchise changer for Minny - though i prefer Turner even at 1)... I wonder if he (Rambis) is playing the old Jackson nugget of letting them "work it out". A few times this season he has called time outs right to the end of games (blowout losses) just to draw out the embarrassment and pain in his players ("See kids - this is how it feels"). Time will tell if it pays off. Most fans have given up on this season - but if there is no real improvement in the team next year - it may be so long to the city of Minneapolis by the NBA...

Big article in the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel today on Andrew Bogut titled, "Bucks not certain they want Bogut playing in international tourney."

It had my heart skip a beat! The article comes on the back of the FIBA version I had previously posted this week and in particular Brett Brown's comments regarding the big Aussie Centre.

I guess Bogut's back issues have been well documented and in the back of my mind the thought of him stepping aside for this WC was a dinstinct possibility...but I still want him to play!

"Bucks general manager John Hammond said Wednesday he has "major concerns" about center Andrew Bogut's participation in the World Championships this summer in Turkey."

"We are going to support Andrew as he goes through this process," Hammond said before the Bucks played the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night. "But we do have concerns.

"We've made a long-term commitment to Andrew and obviously he's made a commitment back to us. We appreciate what he's done for us at this point in his career and think he's only going to get better and better. "We want to continue to monitor his back and make sure he stays healthy."

"We know the importance of the World Championships and the importance to Australian basketball," Hammond said. "Not trying to be selfish throughout this process, but to a certain extent we do have to watch out for our own best concerns here."

Bucks forward Ersan Ilyasova is expected to play for Turkey, the host country in this summer's World Championships, which will take place Aug. 28 to Sept. 12. Carlos Delfino also could be asked to play for Argentina. He was a member of his country's gold-medal winning squad in the Athens Olympics in 2004 and played again for Argentina in the 2006 World Championships.

"We want to be supportive of the international game," Hammond said. "Look at what it's doing for our team and the impact it's had for us. "This is an individual circumstance involving a player (Bogut) that has had an injury due to a volume of games being played." Ilyasova played for Turkey in the 2009 European Championships and was one of the top scorers in the tournament. "Ersan's circumstance is a bit different," Hammond said. "Age, no injury. And the fact also his team is the host country. Hopefully we're going to attend and support him in some capacity."

This is not unexpected but in my opinion is pure BS. All teams know full well that if they sign a non US player that he will certainly harbour a desire to represent their nation at the highest level. To sign them and then to put the hard word on them because they are paying the bucks is understandable from a buisiness perspective but is two-faced and extremely mercenary. And what are we talikng about here, five to eight extra games every two years when they play an 82 game regular season plus playoffs. Give me a break. I'm sure the NBA gratefully receives all the extra sales of merchandise generated overseas by fans of internationals, so get off their case and let them play without holding them over a barrel.

Only 6 minutes for Andersen today as the Rockets beat the Grizzlies. He had 5 points on 2/3 FGA (1-2 3PA), and 2 turnovers.

Suprisingly low minutes, the game was close for awhile but Houston had a 10+ point lead in the 4th and Brooks was going off.

Jawai is on the inactive list and didn't play today.

Recording the Bucks game to watch later so I'm sure LC will give us a stat update on that.

Thanks for the entree Bobby Tables! I couldn't agree more in your comments about NBA players playing international basketball events such as WC's.

The Rockets managed to account for the Grizzlies, winning 107-96. David Andersen scored 5 points on 2/3 shooting, going 1/2 from long range along the way. But he also had just 2 turnovers and no other stats in playing just 6 minutes.

The T-Wolves lost to the Jazz 100-122. Nathan Jawai did not see any action yet again - as pointed out he is on the inactive list.

The Bucks lost their first game in 7 to the Clippers today, going down 93-101. Andrew Bogut had a 10 point first quarter and finished with another double-double. He scored 18 points on 8/15 shooting going 2/4 from the line. He also had 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 4 blocks and 1 turnover in 41 minutes of action. I guess at some point they had to drop a game, just wish it was not against the Clippers!

Tomorrow there are no NBA teams featuring Aussies in action.

On Saturday, the Rockets take on the Celtics, the Bucks look to bounce back with a win against the Kings, the Blazers play the Wizards, whilst the T-Wolves will probably play like mere puppies against the Lakers.

In a game I watched courtesy of my bro's ILP, the Bucks came from nowhere late in regulation to force OT against the Kings today. A 2nd OT was then required in which the Bucks took control and eventually prevailed 114-108. Andrew Bogut delivered yet again with another big game and double-double. He scored 21 points on 21 points on 10/20 shooting, including a paltry 1/6 from the line. He also racked up 11 rebounds alongside 1 assist, 2 steals, 2 blocks and 3 turnovers in playing 45 minutes.

The Rockets fell behind the Celtics early and could not get ahead at the end, going down 87-94. David Andersen saw little action, going 0/2 from the field and failing to trouble the scorers and recording just 1 foul in only 6 minutes of action.

The Blazers pipped the Wizards courtesy of a Roy dagger at the death, earning Portland a 76-74 victory. Patty Mills did not play.

The T-Wolves lost to the Lakers as one would expect, but this time did not get blown out, going down 96-104. Nathan Jawai did not play, and neither did Pecherov.

In the D-League, the Utah Flash defeated the Los Angeles D-Fenders 128-107. Luke Nevill came off the bench to score 6 points on 2/6 shooting, nailing 2/2 from the line. He also had 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 turnovers in an improved 21 minutes of action.

Tomorrow the Bucks back up against the Nuggets in the only game featuring an Aussie.

Bucks continued on their winning ways in overcoming the Nuggets 102-97 today despite Andrew Bogut playing limited minutes due to foul trouble.

Bogut scored just 2 points on 1/3 shooting with only 3 rebounds but 3 blocks and 3 turnovers in a minimal 15 minutes of action. Delfino and Salmons picked up the slack to ensure the Bucks won.

Tomorrow, the Rockets take on the Knicks and the Blazers face the Suns.

DNP for Andersen today against the Knicks. Judging by his minutes he seems to be in the dog house.

As pointed out earlier, the Rockets took care of the Knicks today, winning 116-112. David Andersen did not play so I'm not sure what is going on there either. ESPN lists him as DNP - Coaches Decision.

The Blazers went down to the Suns. Patty Mills did not play.

In the D-League, the Utah Flash lost to the LA D-Fenders. Luke Nevill scored just 2 points on 1/2 shooting alongside 1 rebound, 2 assists, 3 blocks and no turnovers in 12 minutes behind Bennet Davis in coming off the bench.

Today the Rockets take on the Bulls, the T-Wolves play the Raptors, whilst in the marquee matchup, the Bucks play the Hawks.

The Bucks are on fire as they continue to pave a wave of destruction since returning from the all-star break. Today is was the Atlanta Hawks that felt their wrath in a 98-95 Bucks win. Andrew Bogut scored just 9 points on a paltry 4/11 shooting, nailing 1/2 from the line. However he did manage 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block and no turnovers in just 28 minutes on court. John Salmons was inspired, scoring 32 - 16 coming in the 4th quarter - on a sizzling 12/19 shooting, including 3/6 from long range and 5/5 from the line.

The Rockets lost to the Bulls 88-98. David Andersen did not play and is listed as having back problems yet again.

The T-Wolves lost their 13th straight game in going down to the Raptors 100-106 today. Nathan Jawai did not see any game time.

Tomorrow there are no teams in action featuring any Aussies.

The Bucks came back to earth today in trailing all game in losing 86-101 to the 76ers. Andrew Bogut scored 8 points on 4/8 shooting alongside 3 rebounds, 2 blocks and 3 turnovers in just 20 minutes on court. He sat a lot of the second half as the Bucks were well behind and the bench got a shot. The Bucks shot poorly and overall it was a dismal display for a team that had won 15 of the previous 17 games.

The T-Wolves continue to lose games, this time to the Bobcats, 95-108. Nathan Jawai did not play.

The Rockets lost 104-112 to the Thunder. David Andersen did not play and is still out injured with a sore lower back.

In the D-League, the Utah Flash fought off the Idaho Stampede and maintained their standing as the 8th seed in the race to the playoffs. Luke Nevill returned to the starting line-up and had an immediate impact in racking up a double-double. He scored 15 points on 6/8 shooting, nailing 3/6 from the line along the way. He also had 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block and no turnovers in 34 minutes of action.

Today, the Rockets lost to the Clippers 93-99. David Andersen did not play and is still sitting out injured.

The Blazers beat the Mavericks today, 101-89. Patty Mills sat out the game on the bench.

Tomorrow, the Bucks take on the Heat is an Eastern Conference showdown for potentially 5th spot in the East, whilst the T-Wolves will probably be owned by the Magic.

Tomorrow in the D-League, the Utah Flash and Luke Nevill play the Idaho Stampede in a rematch. You can watch the game live through this link for free here: http://linky.com.au/92ufj
