Tigers have made Hodge an offer

Toay's Melbourne Herald-Sun via Grantley Bernard reports the Tigers have made Julius Hodge a firm offer to play out the remainder of the season...

The story is not yet online but was in today's paper. He is Westover's quotes:

"He could be a good fit. He is definitely a dynamic playerand we need something. It's not definite, but we've always liked Julius. If Hodge accept the offer, we will bring him in straight away. If not, we'll go to the next player on the list. We will be telling them we want them ASAP."

The story reports that if Hodge declines the Tigers offer, they will shift their focus to Paul Harris, a swingman from Syracuse University who averaged 12ppg last season.

He seemed to like it in Melbourne.

Even that you all hate him it will be great to have him back in the league as at least in Adelaide he will be treated like a villain. This will add more passion and interest to the game.

Also whether you like it or not the guy has skills and will add value to the league.

Julius had waaaaay too much fun in Melbourne. Al westover, who i love, wont like Hodge's attitude. Chemistry could be the key in that pickup, not his raw talent.

At the half - somehow, I think we would struggle with the payment side of things, I'm guessing Hodge would be asking for little more than Tez.

King James - spot on, it will be a big crowd to the game on Dec 5th if he has suited up by then.

I belive the Silver Fox may release a special Hodge Package - you buy tickets to the Dec 5th game, but then don't have to show up!

i bet the 36ers are thinking that they should have forwarded that Warrant for Julius onto the Tigers instead of returning to the Port Adelaide Magistrates Office.

When he's back in Oz, I'm sure the Magistrates Court will be able to track him down in Melbourne.

December 5th at the Dome would be a good place to find him. Then again, perhaps not - sometimes he decides not to show up!

Oh man, I hope that's true! I love Hodge, he's super fun to watch.

The crowd ripping into him during the home game on 5th December would be memorable. Perhaps Bradtke's-first-game-back-in-Adelaide memorable.

Does this make it impossible for Anstey to return?
Points wise it may be possible if they lose Lang, but surely not salary cap wise.
Didn't the Sixers sign Cooper and Groves because they were cheap alternatives to stay under the cap?
Hodge would be worth at least as much as Ballinger
Anstey would be more than Gilchrist you'd think
Worthington would be more than Groves
MacKinnon Vs Holmes would go MacKinnon's way.
Kendall Vs Burston would go Kendall's way.
Corletto, Crosswell, Greer and Johnson Vs Ng, Hill, Cooper and Herbert would go their way too.

Or are we grossly overpaying our players compared to them?

Hendo they are meant to have Barlow remember. Also they have gotten rid of two imports

I don't think the Sixers are using the whole cap. But I agree that it's hard to see that Tigers list fitting under.
