Ben Knight likely out for the season
Very poor luck for the Tigers - what seemed like barely a bump from Pero Cameron (cue jokes) in the Blaze-Tigers game last night has ended in a major injury to Melbourne's journeyman forward Ben Knight. The NBL are reporting that this is likely to see him out for the duration of this season:
Knight's injury occurred during the first quarter of the game as he jumped to get the ball alongside Blaze big man Pero Cameron. On his return to Melbourne on Thursday Knight received specialist advice that he has ruptured his quad tendon in his right knee. He will see the surgeon on Friday to repair the tendon, however it is likely he will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2009/10 NBL season.Full article
Knight said that although it is worse than he originally thought he is staying positive.
"It is a lost opportunity for me, I started last night and was looking forward to a great season, but I am trying to stay positive. It is the first major injury I have had in my career and all I am looking at is just getting back."
Do they persist with the all-Aussie thing, or just get an import and be done with it?
