That comparison could only really be accurate if twenty20 included springloaded bats to guarantee that the ball shot off like a rocket every time a bat slightly touched it, or if fielders could use robot boots to jump higher to catch the ball or they did away with bowlers and use machines that could pinpoint a ball anywhere and fling it up to 200kmh.
Twenty20 is, most basically, just a reduced overs game of cricket, requiring different strategy and methods. It is not a mechanically enhanced, completely bastardized version of the original sport.
I found slamball amusing for about 5 minutes, then it just got repetitive.
I find Twenty20 an enjoyable alternative to the traditional way of playing cricket.
The State level "KFC Twenty20 Big Bash" looks like it could be really enjoyable this year and I'll be wandering off to the MCG to watch the Vics (with Dwayne Bravo and Murali as imports) take on the other states.
