Rhino, Where did you find results?
I went to Sporting Pulse, clicked link to U14 Nationals and found the site that was last updated on Oct 10 2007?
Is there somewhere else I should look?

For all those that dubbed Dandenong Rangers as hopeless 'coz they only got in as hosts and didn't qualify - we won 4, only lost to Knox. Through to crossover qtr finals today. Go Rangers!

Well done. You got through in arguably the weakest group!
I'll eat my words if you can beat Keilor in your Quarter Final.

Will finish higher for 2nd year in a row.

Go Tigers

Still shaping as a Bulleen vs Knox final.

That's ok. Sturt were peaking for State Champs, where they lost to West anyway.

That's what Sturt say is more important. These Nationals Tournaments are just a good fun trip for a team and 10 coaches.

Victorian teams had 6 of 8 quarter finalists and account for all four semi-finalists as follows:

Geelong vs Bulleen
Keilor vs Knox

I still predict a Bulleen vs Knox grand final showdown. Knox won the Vic state title, defeating Bulleen 60-43. The potential re-match should be a bit closer I reckon.

The Sturt bashing in this thread is just as boring as in the other one....

I propose that promotion/relegation introduced for National Championships and 14 Nationals. The dominance of Victoria is turning these competitions into a fast and its only going to get worse. Pro/rel for World Championships???? Let the US put 4 teams in!

anon 622,

Even if a team plays its best, it doesn't mean that it will always win.

Especially when you are dealing with 12 and 13 year old kids.

All you are pointing out is that you are blind to reason and are unwilling to accept others do things differently, and that the KPI's of success define whether or not the decisions are working or not.

Interesting to note that in this years Classic, Bulleen beat Knox. Then Knox beat Bulleen in the VJBL Championships. Nothing like a bit of friendly rivalry to spur on these two teams; they are a lock for the Granny.

Yes Knox peaks for the VJBL championships while Bulleen's approach is to peak for the classics. Both have peaked early for this so I suspect we won't have a winner!!

LOL!

Bulleen vs Knox it is...

Bulleen comfortbaly knocked off Geelong 68-40, whilst Knox accounted for Keilor, 78-47.

Yeah well done Southern, you can add that fantastic win to all your premierships this season. Hear the Roar haha. First time in the history of Noarlunga/Southern that a winter GF has not been won by either boys or girls....

Biggest kids were probably the two bigs from Illawarra. DV had a couple of bigs, including one that was bottom age. Knox had a couple, as did Bulleen. Biggest kids were probably about 6'2. Scary seeing as they're 12!

I feel like chicken tonight, chicken tonight...

Ah, the power of hormones!

I have also heard (and don't know if it is true or just an old wive's tale), that boys from single parent families or those who don't have much contact with their fathers go through puberty earlier.

Probably an old wive's tale, unless anyone with a medical background knows better?

One of Bulleen's taller players is the son of former Carlton footballer Warren McKenzie (Reece). He averaged 15ppg.
