R18 ABL - Last Minor round game
Rockets-Lions @ The Tin Shed
Panthers-Woodies @ Tin Shed Too
Flames-Sabres @ "The place with the highest admission price"
Westies-Southern @ The Woolstore
Mavs-Eagles @ Hill Stadium on Sunday
Women:
North to force too many turnovers and should get a + 40 W. They go into the finals with some form and go in as the smokey.
South to be too strong over the Warriors. Truslove to get some MVP votes and tighten things up in the race for the medal. She still may be pipped at the post.
Flames-Sabres could go either way with Flames searching for a final round home win, then again Marino could just fire off a +20 pt game and combined with their D, might just seal 3rd place.
West have too much firepower for Southern but the Southern girls will go down fighting. West are minor premiers because they are a quality team.
The Eagles should account for the Mavs and then enjoy the drive home.
Men:
Panthers-Warriors playing for pride. Furness might find it a bit harder this week after a screamer last week. Panthers have been unlucky this season, but might win a tight one on their turf.
West-Southern. Southern with nothing to lose. West have had a few hiccups and will remain 4th regardless of result, expect a double win to Westies in this round.
Flames-Sabres is 2 v 1 and winner secures the minor premiership. Are both teams at full strength? Will be a crackerjack game if they are. Flames advantageis their D, Sabres are a shooting machine and ran all over the Flames last time, will probably happen again. This game should be match of the round, but Rockets-Lions play off for 5th.
Rockets not playing finals? It's like Adelaide without a Christmas pageant! Sadly for Rockets fan, I reckon 4 on the trot for the Lions means the Lions freight train will steam roll through Hillcrest on Saturday night. Too much pressure on North who rely too much on one shooter. They may have an early end of season trip. No pageant this year.
Mavs-Eagles on Sunday. The ultimate dead rubber. Ladder positions shouldn’t change as a result of the game. Rather than waste a trip, why not just be gentlemen and have lunch at Shaw and Smith and enjoy a cheeky sav. blanc? The 2009 is clean and crisp and best drunk young. Whoever wins can shout!
