Taipans to trial Skip Mills
Combination guard Julien "Skip" Mills will arrive in the Far North next week for a 10-day trial with the Taipans, with coach Aaron Fearne keen to make sure the 24-year-old former Ball State scorer is a good fit for the new Snakes.
"I just think with the financial situation with a lot of clubs you want to get that import thing right," Fearne said, pointing to the decision Adelaide made to trial point guard John Gilchrist.
The Taipans have been searching for a "combination" guard, one that can play the point as well as score and Mills seems to fit the bill.
Playing in Poland with SKK Kotwica Kolobrzeg in the 2008-09 season, Mills averaged 15.1 points and 5.9 rebounds a game, his play good enough to earn him a workout with the Indiana Pacers and a place at the Milwaukee Bucks' rookie/free agent mini camp earlier this year.

The Taipans are shaping up to be a half-decent budget roster.
