I heard a whisper Mark Worthington had received the call-up to play in the New Zealand series. Not named in the squad however. Good to see David Barlow, Adam Ballinger and Pete Crawford in there. Still a desperately under-strength team.

Looks like a decent squad - great to see Balls in there.

It is an under strength squad, missing some big names for sure. However I have one absolute stinker (IMO) of a selection to squabble about.
How the hell does Daniel Dillon get in the squad? What has he ever done both in College and in the NBL to justify selection (let alone in any other pro league)?

Lack of alternative PGs?

I have to admit I wasn't too interested in this tournament when I saw how many names from both Aus & NZ weren't in but I think it should prove to be a slightly more even comp than what it was.

The last rumour i heard about Aaron is that post honeymoon, he is hitting the books to complete his degree once and for all.

I think what this squad reinforces is that we have plenty of depth in the bigs dept, but we are thin in the backcourt, particularly at the point.

good to see that a lot of future boomers players are getting the experience early (even if it is only a training camp) players like cadee, delly, motum, page and ellis will relish such an opportunity!

I do agree on the Daniel Dillon situation too, he is a very good player however, not a standout!

in my defence for Daniel, he's alot better than what it appears. remember, no rookie shines under Goorjian's system. further justify his case, he was invited to and played in the Bucks' summer league team and offered a D-League spot afterward.

dating back to Dragons' season last year, during training he actually outplayed Trammell Darden time and time again.

from what's heard, I wouldn't be surprized that he make the final cut for the upcoming team; keep in mind Mills is out, and Brett Brown wants to have 3 PGs on the roster (and yes, Daniel's going for a PG position at this camp).

Finally, Daniel's quickness with his wingspan he is probably one of the better defenders for the position. Oh yeah and he's stronger than the other PGs too.

Anon I saw that Wortho was on the court and took part in the training session which is interesting considering around the time of his BA comments he ruled himself out and said he wanted to rest.
Appears to definitely be on the squad though.
