Gortat to Mavs, Knicks offer to Kidd, Avery to DET

Three things from Marc Stein's Twitter feed this morning:

Marcin Gortat on his way to Dallas, literally and figuratively. Promises Mavs he'll sign offer sheet July 8th. ESPN.com link on the way
Mavs still favorites to re-sign J-Kidd but he will get a three-year offer from the NYK http://bit.ly/4GrKtA
Posting any sec: Doug Collins tells ESPN.com he has withdrawn from consideration in DET, leaving Avery Johnson with a clear path to the job

Bad luck for Orlando, Gortat was a servicable backup centre for Dwight.

I'm thinking Gorat is going to be a dud. He's had one good series and that's what he's going to living off for the next couple of years.
