griffin must've known he was gonna get selected number 1 by clippers but he wears purple n black, maybe he heard he was gonna drop to number 4 in sacramento.

Griffin goes #1 as expected.
A clipper is a ship.
ESPN's DraftCast appears to be the page to follow.

Harden at 3.....Everyone thinking Rubio at 3...
NBL in guam

gotta feel for rubio not ending up at sacramento and ending up at snow central minnesota.

#4 Tyreke Evans to Kings
#5 Ricky Rubio to Timberwolves
Johnny Sack

RUBIOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
YES! Apparently his buyout has been lowered - so he should be able to come over (if he really wants to - PLEASE WANT TO RICKY! ;))
asd
Years ago
Minnesota just took two point guards. Rubio and Flynn
Could we see them trade Flynn
Johnny Sack
Years ago
Peeps on RealGM are pointing out that Sac took Tyreke (when they already have a star swingman - Martin) and Munny have Rubio stitched up... Two somewhat misplaced picks = trade?
Sturty6ers
Years ago
No. 10 Bucks select Brandon Jennings. Being at home with pig flu has it's advantages....
Sturty6ers

13 Pacers picked Tyler Hansbrough. Bit of a shame as the Pacers really needed a PG.

15 Pistons pick Austin Daye. Now just waiting for the second round for Patty....

Years ago
Every year my Pistons seem to pick a guy I've never heard of.
asd
Years ago
Seems Patty Mills will likely be second rounder with the likes of Jrue Holiday, Eric Maynor, Jeff Teague and Ty Lawson still to come
TRIPPLE
Years ago
Does anyone think Mills should have stayed in college now? With so many PG's in this draft it might have been better for him to wait another year maybe.
Big Sexy
Years ago
3 Austin Daye is a lot like Prince very tall skinny 3 point shooter played in the same conference as Mills
3
Years ago
Can Mills actually stay in college if he doesn't get picked? I mean, did he hire an agent and that kind of thing?
3
Years ago
Who thinks Minnesota wanted a Point Guard out of this draft?
Beantown
Years ago
3, Mills is committed. He missed his chance to pull out of the draft a couple of weeks ago. I think he should have gone around one more time with St Mary's as well. He'll get picked up, but looking almost certain to be 2nd round, which means no guarantees in his contract.
NBL in guam
Years ago
I hope mills gets selected by a team that hasn't already picked a PG, because then he'd be the third PG in many cases.
Big Sexy
Years ago
Good news for Mills 4 PG's have been pick in a row
Beantown
Years ago
Minny are very frustrating. I'm still a big fan of Al Jefferson, so I was hoping they would draft well to get him an exciting suppporting cast.
I really hope they have a good deal up their sleeve, because a backcourt of Rubio and Flynn is just ridiculously undersized.
I was originally hoping they would trade up for Harden and then find a PG like Curry with the #6.
Switching for Tyreke might be a good option for Minny, but doubt that was planned in advance, because straight after Minny took Rubio and Flynn, Kahn said he planned on keeping both. If there was already a deal in place with a team that had picked, I don't think he would have said that.
Beantown
Years ago
Skin - they still have #28 ... Mills to Minny at #28 to complete their collection!!! ;-)
Big Sexy
Years ago
I feel a lot more confident Mills will be picked in the first round, still a lot of teams needing point guards seeing Minny are stealing them all.
3
Years ago
The Blazer must have really liked this Victor Claver guy, to give up three picks to get to #22 to get him.
Beantown
Years ago
Victor Claver? Looks like what could have been for Joe Ingles, if he had sold himself better. Oh well, still a small hope he gets drafted late in the 2nd.

Shaq was all class with everything he said in his interview there.

Fingers crossed Mills could go to Dallas, they are in need of a PG
Big Sexy
Years ago
Is anyone watching on ESPN? Is Mullens the last of the invited players?
Beantown
Years ago
Yeah, Dallas would be a good spot for Mills at this point. If not - gulp - I'd be happy if the Lakers got him... you have no idea how hard it is for me to say that!
Beantown
Years ago
I think the last guy in the green room was actually Holiday. Think its empty now
cmon patty!! getting real nervous only 5 left in the first round...
Big Sexy

Damn Mullens to Dallas, I think I gave him the kiss of death
Beantown

Hadn't heard that Lakers sold the #29. Anyone else heard that?

Rodrigue Beaubois (PG) France just went ahead of Mills
Big Sexy
Years ago
I thought I read it on one of the many things I have been looking at this morning I could be wrong, I am now hoping Lakers or Clevland for Patty
3
Years ago
If they're trading the picks anyway, why didn't Dallas just pick Beaubois and leave Mullins for OKC?

Can anyone tell what the hell the Kahn and the Wolves are thinking...
I'm hoping a mega trade is in the works. Why would you take Rubio, Flynn and Lawson???

you wouldn't think the Minny will take another PG so it will be down to lakers and clevland. If the NY have got the lakers pick we could Patty in the Big Apple if not I will think the lakers will pick Calathes and leave him in Greece

Come on Lakers and Cleveland, pick up Mills. I assume one of them will take Blair though. Cant see him being passed up.

Minnesota got the Nuggets lottery protected Bobcats pick, which they acquired last season.
3
Years ago
Blair is a great rebounder and inside scorer in college, and is 6'7", 265lbs. You know, just like Danny Fortson was.
Fortson was better than Blair in college, and decent in his first few years in the NBA, but then got exposed once he didn't expand his game. I like Blair (I'm a Pittsburgh fan), and hopefully he can do something beyond what he's shown so far, or else he won't be anything but an undersized (height wise) big man role player in the NBA.
If there's doubts about his knees (when he's not an amazing athlete for his size to begin with), then it's no suprise IMO that he's dropped this far.

Well its second round for Mills who must be kicking himself
Cleveland Select Christian Eyenga (SF) Congo
TP
Years ago
There were 56% votes of "F" for Cleveland's pick (on ESPN Draft Cast). How many Aussies must have voted!
Annex1
Years ago
Whoever was advising Mills should be shot - Blind Freddy could see this was a draft massively heavy in PGs and his workouts were by most accounts less than impressive. He should have gone back to school - now, no guarantees. Very disappointing.
Big Sexy
Years ago
Annex1 I would think that Mills would have a promise from a team in the second round for him to stay in
Beantown
Years ago
Disappointing for Mills and Aussie ball so far. I would love to know why he decided to stay in the draft. Was he promised first round and screwed? Did he fall on draft day for some unexpected reason? Or did Patty just feel he wanted/ needed to make some cash now and so decided to go professional regardless?
KingJames
Years ago
I think hindsight is a wonderful thing.
However, if Mills went back to college its not guaranteed he would have done better in college then he did this season. He could have suffered a massive injury killing his career. His college kind of sucks so he would continue to get limited exposure. They are all variables he would have weighed up and he would have been expecting to have been in the first round year so to me he made the right decision but was just unlucky.
I believe this will make Mills even more determined to prove him self so it could be for the best!
TR
Years ago
I can see Blair doing a 'Boozer' or a 'Millsap'.
Danny Ferry needs to be shot for the 30th pick.

Ingles to San Antonio with Brett Brown at Round 2 Pick 23
NBL in guam
Years ago
has mills signed to play in europe or somethin, how does he not get picked yet?
Beantown
Years ago
Tough to see a good fit for Mills right now. Perhaps the Lakers could still take him with their 2nd rounder? Detroit or Charlotte are also possible, but Mills would be behind younger guys, rather than behind an ageing superstar who he could learn from.
Annex1
Years ago
Well so much for the San Antonio and Brett Brown theory.
And as far as Mills going back into college and getting hurt etc - that already happened, remember? You can talk all you like about risk and whatever, but the fact is clear - this was a PG heavy draft and he wasn't seen at this time as a genuine floor leader at the next level. Maybe we've all overrated him as well, but nonetheless, a year in college developing his PG skills would have done him nothing but good IMO for his future prospects.
This was a gigantic mistake by Mills and whoever was advising him, no ifs and buts about it.
Lets hope the bucks pick him up!
what a shitty situation..
Annex1
Years ago
Nope. Bucks went for Meeks, who had that unbelievable 54 point game last season in college.
The way this is going, Mills could fall all the way to my Celts at 58 - we need a backup PG if they don't keep Marbury and I'd be quite happy with him backing up Rajon.
mystro
Years ago
we're up 2 pick 41 and no Mills anywhere, you would think he would have only stayed if a team had given a promise of a pick
Andy
Years ago
So sad?? If he gets drafted in the second round it doesn't matter if you go 31 or 60.
He will get drafted don't you worry bout that.
Beantown
Years ago
Ok that is REALLY bad news now. Lakers just took FKN Patrick Beverley - some scrub American playing in the UKRAINE ahead of Mills. Doesn't say much for how scouts view Mills.
NBL in guam
Years ago
if he was asian or spanish he woulda gone top 15, racist bloody americans. This is weird, but you can't blame him, he improved dramatically from season 1 to 2 and went great in olympics. It's just bad luck so far.
Beantown
Years ago
Annex1 - would love Mills to go to my fav team too. Problem is that he probably wouldn't get much of a shot there for a couple of years. Unless Ainge really DOES trade Rondo?!?!
asd
Years ago
Hello Cleveland at Round 2 Pick 16, maybe he was guaranteed a spot with Cleveland.
Annex1
Years ago
The point is (pardon the pun) is that there was an expectation he'd be a first round pick. The fact that he's fallen this far is extremely disappointing if you expected him (as a lot of people including Mills presumably did) to go a hell of a lot earlier.
Beantown
Years ago
LOL Guam - Americans racist against Aussies... what a joke. Its not bad luck when Mills goes this low.
Either Mills was poorly advised about where he would get drafted or he decided he needed to make the jump to the pros this year for some reason (could be money or something).
Annex1
Years ago
Beantown - true, Doc doesn't like playing the rookies. But I actually like the fit, especially if Marbury goes, and I love the idea of Rondo speed being subbed for even more speed in Mills.
Beantown
Years ago
Alright Annex - lets dare to dream ;-) ... Mills to the Celtics at #58 !!!

I'm still staggered that a guy who did well at last Olympics and was rated at as high as 20th in First round so drop so far. He also put up better stats than Rubio at Olympics.

Not really pleased with the Pistons trading Buddinger for a future pick. I really like him and think he could be a good player in the future with his outstanding athleticism.

Years ago
Beantown, just on whether Mills could go back to college - if he didn't hire an agent and went undrafted, he actually could have gone back. He wouldn't have been able to enter another draft, but as Randpolh Morris did, could have played NCAA and been an NBA free agent, able to sign with a team at any time.
Gotta feel sorry for Mills, but you'd think he will find a spot on a roster.
Beantown
Years ago
Portland might be okay Mills. Still west coast, a good organisation, and its not like they are stacked at PG.
C'mon Ingles... hope you sneak into one of the last picks
Beantown
Years ago
Thanks 24 I didn't realise that. Pretty sure Mills hired an agent though didn't he?
Beantown

Anyhoo, he got drafted... lets see how he goes in POrtland
shin splints
Years ago
Portland? A good fit?
They have Steve Blake, Sergio Rodriguez, Jerryd Bayless at PG, and the Brandon Roy spends alot of time at the Point.
No room for Mills, I'm afraid. Only hope is they were picking for soemone else, and trade Mills for a future second round pick or similar.
Beantown
Years ago
Shin Splints - pretty sure I heard Rodriguez was traded earlier. I said 'might be okay' because there weren't really any good places left for him to land at the point. Its not great for him, but what I like is that Blake is not seen as the long-term solution and Bayless does not seem to have won the Blazers coaching staff over yet - he is also not a true PG. So Patty will have to work hard, but I see him as having some chance, because he can offer a different skill set to the team.
Sergio was traded to the kings today for the 22nd pick.
so mills is 3rd in the PG pecking order behind blake and bayless, the blazers ran with 3 point guards last year so lets see what happens..
Nate
Years ago
The Blazers are young, quick and a playoff team - of all teams I was thinking they would suit Mills better than most, let's hope he gets to prove the other 29 teams wrong for looking past him - GO PATTY!!
woody venkat
Years ago
Im pretty sure blakes contract expires soon, Mills is quality at the worst he can be a solid backup in the NBA right now, he can contribute as much as Anthony Johnson does for orlando or Jacque Vaughan for the Spurs. Hes ready to play now. 55 is way too low
Who Me!
Years ago
Shin Splints, they have traded Rodriguez earlier today to Kings for rights to swap Picks 31 and 38, then took Power Forward Jeff Pendergraph, so still achance for Mills to 'stick'
