SBS set to Launch 2nd Digital Channel

SBS will use its new second television channel to provide around-the-clock coverage of next year's soccer World Cup in South Africa.

It will also use the channel to resolve a scheduling clash this winter between two sporting blockbusters: the Ashes test series and the Tour de France.

Could SBS be an answer to the NBL's FTA woes?

again, would SBS (like Ten HD) just be a subcriber to content, rather than a producer of content. The NBL needs someone producing content - that is, more than anything, what will scare away the FTA networks.

If NBL had an international flavour beyond NZ and 2 americans per team they would surely pick it up. Does BA know this however?

why do you say this NIJ? SBS has covered soccer in this county, including rhe old NSL ad nauseum, when it had no international relevance whatsoever.

But hohoho, the nsl had a distinctly ethnic flavour, much like sbs has always had, that was gonna be one of my examples of why sbs wouldnt look at NBL.
