Would also depend on which area you are moving to as most of the bigger and very strong Melbourne clubs are located on the Eastern side of Melbourne.

However it is worth noting the VJBL season is now well under way and you will likely struggle to get into a team until next season. Tryouts are likely to commence in late September, early October.

Here is a general breakdown on the stronger clubs across the Eastern side of Melbourne:

North East - Eltham, Kilsyth, Warrandyte
East - Knox, Nunawading, Bulleen, Hawthorn, Waverley, Blackburn, Ringwood, Camberwell
South East - Dandenong, Frankston, Sandringham, Mornington, McKinnon, Cranbourne

But again, it really depends on which area you will be living in as to narrowing down your choices...

It will also depend on which domestic club you end up playing with. Some associations, read that as most, require you to play in their domestic competition to qualify for selection in their Rep teams..so you will be playing domnesticly on, usually, Saturdays or Sunday evenings, depending on the age group and grade.

Some allow exemptions from this rule but its not a "apply and get what you want thing".

At least one requires a minimum number of seasons domestic play before an exemption is granted..

It can be tough to make 1st team at Dandenong depending on the talent each year. As previously mentioned, depends on the exact area you live although plenty of options. Add Knox and perhaps Waverley to Vic's suggestions and you pretty much have six good clubs covering the Eastern corridor from Melbourne to outer Eastern suburbs.

Good Luck.

if you are interested in the u16 & u18 boys program there was only one club in the boys who had both there u16s & u18s in the VC grand final last year and that was Waverley. There obviously doing something right overthere!!! Consider Waverley as it is located in the inner east and very central to everywhere!!
