Jingles was kept quiet 13 points, good defensive shut down by Mark Bauer.
Morris was good in the warm up.
Darren shot whenever he liked for 22.
Big "quiet" crowd at the cage.

perhaps they should have ditched Morris for Schench. What a dud and a waste of money. Just a tip for John, do not post a highlights package of yourself if you can not deliver.

Almost? The minimum you need to pay an American is around $22k from memory.
not much you can say about that, except money well spent!!!

Perhaps they should have just paid him half of that and he could do a pre game and half time dunk show to entertain everyone. $22 000 for an import these days is obcene and with the way their juniors are playing/being developed the money could have and should have been spent on other more important development, not just the mens program.

If it is 26k pa on prorata, then he will cost the Tigers around 12k for 5 months work.
Southern should be applauded for bringing in new talent to the league. Thats one thing about the SA state league, it is the same faces year after year. Imports and interstate players may not be cheap, but they add to the interest in the ABL.
"Southern should be applauded for bringing in new talent to the league"
I think that is the issue, he can't play!!

I agree. I'm all for bringing in new talent, but Morris doesn't seem to be overly blessed with it.
Morris has cost every Southern junior $50.00 each if I have done the sums right, glad I am not a southern junior.
Cut him and slpit the money between Florence and Browny, they were the only two that busted their arse

dont hate the player, he didnt recruit himself.

except that with the large crowds coming in to see the games they have probably already covered the cost of him as a player!!
Actually Tiger man, it is not about hate, but he did approach Southern and asked to play there. Choplit, covered his expenses from 2 games, get real! The only reason you had a huge crowd is that Joe was playing.

I think you will find the Mavs game had about the same crowd numbers!

Bringing in a player is always a gamble - you might be discovering the next Mark Davis, or your recruit might end up fading into obscurity.

Anyone taking bets? I'll put $50 on obscurity...
Perhaps we can focus on some good news in the ABL. To start the ball rolling I have been impressed with how some of our best junior basketballers have been performing. I have seen Tom Daly, Rhys Elliott and (?) Carlin so far and from what I have seen been very impressive especially considering their age and experience
