Best player with worst stats

Ok, i love stats, most sports fans do.

Unfortunately, most players can't be ranked purely on stats because of factors like;

1/ A team runs more plays for them
2/ There is still no accurate stat for playing solid D
3/ The era the player played in
4/ The benefits certain team-mates supply them with
5/ The leadership they supply to their team

So my question is this.

Who are the players that stats have failed?

The players whose value is way higher than their stats suggest?

Kwame Brown? oh oops he's actually bad...

Luke Walton gets my vote, he does more than what the stats appear

If we're talking NBL Warwick Giddey would have to be up there, you'd struggle to find someone who started so many games for such a good side with less impressive stats.

Hey billo, saw a coach tell his players during a timeout "next time down the floor, run a Giddy". To which I replied "Someone's going to take a charge, dive on a loose ball or do a one percenter"

Turns out, it's a backdoor play.

Dammit Billo, ya beat me to it! Giddey was always the backdoor man, and the master of the uncontested layup!

I agree with LA Boy. He is a solid role player for the Lakers, but I would love to see Luke Walton given a chance to shine elsewhere.

Bring back Bill Walton

It's always the defensive players that are like this, like Shane Battier,Trevor Ariza,Bruce Bowen and even Shaq who does so much to clog up the middle without showing anything for it in the stats
