Sri Lankan cricketers shot in Pakistan

Big breaking news in Pakistan...

"Several Sri Lankan cricket players were shot and wounded on Tuesday when their bus came under fire in Pakistan's eastern city of Lahore, their manager Brenden Kurrupu told AFP."

The Australian's refusal to tour Pakistan becuase of safety issues is kind of vindicated by this sad occurence. Hopefully the players will be alright.

Sad day not just for cricket in Pakistan but for sport in general. This could happen any where. Lets face it we would like to think not but it could and to any sport.
To all that were killed and injured my thoughts are with you.

Yeah it's a shame when politics and sport are forced to collide.
I always worry when a sporting team says 'no, we're going anyway' even when there's instability around- the players might not care and might distinguish politics from sport, but unfortunately those that want to hurt others aren't concerned about making a distinction.
What a sad day.
