NBA Trade Deadline Transactions

The NBA trade deadline officially passed at 5:30am Adelaide time on Friday, and here's a quick, simplified summary of all transactions that have happened in the 28 days leading up to the deadline, for the benefit of Hoops SA posters:

Friday, January 23

- Cleveland sign Jawad Williams to a second 10-day contract

Sunday, January 25

- Golden State sign Jermareo Davidson for the remainder of the season

Tuesday, January 27

- Memphis waives Steve Francis

Thursday, January 29

- Charlotte sign Cartier Martin to a 10-day contract

- LA Clippers sign Fred Jones for the remainder of the season

Tuesday, February 3

- Cleveland sign Trey Johnson to a 10-day contract

Thusday February 5

- Charlotte sign Cartier Martin to a second 10-day contract

- Orlando trade Keith Bogans and cash to Milwaukee for Tyronn Lue

Saturday, February 7

- Charlotte trade Shannon Brown and Adam Morrison to LA Lakers for Vladimir Radmanovic

Monday, February 9

- Milwaukee sign Eddie Gill to a 10-day contract

Saturday, February 14

- Phoenix sign Courtney Sims to a second 10-day contract

Monday, February 16

- Detroit trade Alex Acker and 2011 second-round draft pick to LA Clippers for conditional 2013 second-round draft pick

- LA Clippers waive Cheikh Samb

Tuesday, February 17

- Boston trade Sam Cassell to Sacramento for conditional 2015 second-round draft pick

Wednesday, February 18

- Charlotte sign Cartier Martin for the remainder of the season

- Chicago trade Andres Nocioni, Drew Gooden, Cedric Simmons and Michael Ruffin to Sacramento for John Salmons and Brad Miller

- LA Lakers trade Chris Mihm to Memphis for conditional 2013 second-round draft pick

- Portland trade Ike Diogu to Sacramento for Michael Ruffin

Thursday, February 19

- Chicago trade Thabo Sefolosha to Oklahoma City for conditional 2009 first-round draft pick

- Oklahoma City waive Saer Sene

- Minnesota trade Rashad McCants and Calvin Booth to Sacramento for Sheldon Williams and Bobby Brown

- Sacramento waive Mikki Moore

- Chicago trade Larry Hughes to New York for Tim Thomas, Jerome James and Anthony Roberson

- New York for Malik Rose and cash to Oklahoma City for Chris Wilcox

- Houston trade Rafer Alston to Orlando for Brian Cook

- Toronto trade Will Solomon to Sacramento for cash

- Boston trade Patrick O'Bryant to Toronto for a conditional 2014 second-round pick

- Orlando trade Adonal Foyle, Mike Wilks and 2009 first-round pick to Memphis for Kyle Lowry

Some of the trades from the day or so are pending league approval, and there may be info pop up about one or two smaller deals that went down before the deadline in the next couple of days as well.

And as people are probably aware, the following trade was voided (due to a failed Tyson Chandler physical):

- New Orleans trade Tyson Chandler to Oklahoma City for Joe Smith, Chris Wilcox and Devon Hardin

It's interesting to note that Oklahoma City could have chosen bypass the physical and allow the trade to go though, but they obviously didn't feel that they wanted to take that risk. Word around is that Oklahoma City may now buy out the remainder of Joe Smith's contract, and that both Cleveland and Boston are interested in him. As well as that, Chicago may also waived Jerome James, mainly to avoid him accepting his player option (which you'd assume he'd do, and not turn down millions of dollars) for next year and taking up a roster spot and valueable cap room.

Anyway, discuss away.

Happy to see Minny jettison McCants for a couple of marginally useful pieces... Even a bag of chips would have done - the guy could well end up being another Isiah Rider type - talented, but nowhere near as good as he thinks he is...

A window on his thoughts - he's a poet as well... Nice!

An excerpt from 'Hustle and cream' (???)

"We Dead inside just a hollow shell, our hearts are so cold look at dave chapelle,
evil is people with greed that shit green. How is there loyalty when friends is switch teams
We trade stocks and shares but can't help my hood and the NBA cares over there.
Eve should have ate that pear then maybe life would be more fair."

Sorry to hear abot that XztatiK!

Not expecting anything extraordinary from Williams - a warm body is a start. Last thing we need is Kevin Love to break down cause he has to play ~40mins a game... Losing Brewer was bad, losing Al was a disaster - if we lost Love - there would be no words to describe it...

15-20 mins @ 6pts 6rebs would do... That said who knows - He will be coached by one of the greatest bigmen in the history of the game, who knows???

To aaronbruce fan, this is just my opinion, but I think Orlando picked up Rafer because Anthony Johnson wasn't doing great, and Rafer can get you a 10 points, 7 dimes and a couple of steals and Lowry gives them a young 1-guard to come off the bench. I wouldn't be surprised if Anthony Johnson and Tyronne Lue are looking for their 11th and 10th NBA homes, respectively, at the end of the season, or before.

Word around is that Orlando would sign Adonal Foyle, if Memphis release him. Stan Van Gundy is of the understanding they'd sign Mike Wilks too if he is released by the Grizzlies, but Magic GM Otis Smith denies this.

Denver and Boston are both interested in signing Mikki Moore as well.
