Andrew Bynum Injured - Out 8-12 Weeks

Los Angeles Lakers Centre Andrew Bynum has injured the MCL in his right knee (NOT the knee he injured last year) after Kobe Bryant accidentally landed awkwardly on him following a drive to the hoop against Memphis (the same team he got injured against last year).

Sportscenter this morning reported that Bynum will probably be out for 8-12 weeks at this stage, meaning he should return sometime around when the playoffs are starting. Just for the record, Stephen A. Smith emphatically stated that the Lakers WILL NOT win a championship without Bynum, and he has fears about how this will effect Bynum's play (both physically and mentally) going forward. Hopefully for them and their fans, Bynum can be back fit and firing in time for the playoffs, and it doesn't turn into a situation like last year where he misses the entire postseason.

They got to the finals last year without him. Not sure they will be able to this year with the Spurs playing so well (and it is an odd year remember!)

How long is Ariza out for? He will need to be fit for them to have a crack.

The Lakers will need a healthy Bynum to make an impact in the playoffs this year.

Minus the man and the Lakers are in trouble.

They should rest him in all future games vs. MEM.

Pissed off!

One positive is Odom will be back at his best as the starting PF.
