Games to go on tonight, despite heat
Whilst St. Clair, Mars and Wayville games have all been cancelled tonight (Thu 29th January) in South Australia and for the first time in history, the first round of VJBL games have been cancelled in Victoria, one league has decided to battle on, regardless.
In an unprecedented move, regarded by some as utterly reckless and others as a bold statement, I can confirm that all Xbox 360 games will go ahead as planned tonight.
Both NBA2K9 and NBA2K8 league fixtures will go ahead, with stadium management taking precautionary measures to protect players against the sweltering heatwave.
"Look, we've stacked the fridge with beers, we've set the aircon to like 16'C and we stopped off at Toys R' Us for an inflatable kiddy pool. Player safety is always our number one concern, with Friday hangovers being another area of close scrutiny" stated the Xbox League CEO.
"We'll give the kids what they want - and the kids wanna ball. We've even included a retro N64 Waveracer half time show to keep the mood chilled".
More news as it comes to hand...unless the interwebz melts first.
