So what went wrong???
Was anyone at the game???
Looking at stats, there's not a lot of difference except for too many turnovers, too many offensive boards given up and doesn't look like they executed down the stretch or play solid D...maybe Valk should've inserted Bowley!!
Gahan only had 5 shots, that's not enough for her. The shots need to be spread around a bit, maybe the problem is there are not enough balls out on the court at once!
Woosnam only 18 minutes, Payne only 7 minutes, Newley only 8 and Monique 5 minutes..this is only going to hurt the team coming into tomorrows game.
Not looking good for the girls coming into finals.
Will we be seeing Senior Marino call in Valk to his office for a talking to???

Capitals took revenge on theri home court winning by + 20. The AIS Arena curse stricks again with Payne breaking her wrist. She was back-peddaling on transition defense when she fell putting her hands out to break the fall. I though she had landed hard on her back-side to begin, but when she tried to get up and recover you could see the crank-handle angle of her wrist.

Foley good in patches, Francis only once the game was over, Marino very frustrated and boo-ed by the crowd. Bishop and Tolo smashed them inside, Bibby Hurst too aggressive for the Lightning. Good solos by Perera and Musslewhite who only played about 15 minutes each.

The caps are a classy side and play like a team. Coming together at the right end of the season, No egos there. They were just too good for lightning who have been lucky so far

Sturty, there wasn't that much difference in the "stats", read my post! Even if there isn't much difference in the stats, you can still as a team, give up way too many offensive rebounds and have way too many turnovers!!!
Haven't followed basketball long have you??? That's ok, you are from Sturt... ;)

I find it very interesting that for the first time in as long as I can remember that Lightning loose two games in a row on the road, that in both cases the coach wants to blame the refs as the reason for both losses.

Once again Valk gets bailed out by Woosnam again after being 11 down. I wonder how long before she realises that if she wants to win this year she needs to play Sam, especially in the last quarter!!!
Two home games in a row the girls have had a terrible start and it takes some individual excellence from their Captain to get back into the game, yet Sam is rewarded by being benched in the last.
You won't win a Championship with your heart and soul player sitting on the bench!!!

Well said The Brad, also I think there are some question marks starting to come out in regards to the Valks coaching ability.Perhaps the team could head down to the beach while in Queensland this weekend and build some more sand castles, that would be great way to prepare for Townsville.

when your season is on the line, plus your credibility after getting your ar$e kicked the week prior (twice), what sort of coach takes pride in telling the nation that you built sandcastles and ad a treasure hunt.

what the???

Valks timeouts were chaos - no clear concise message, no tactical direction, just cr@p pretty much.

someone pretty wise once told me that any more than 2 messages in a timeout get lost by the players. Valk tries to condense 15 part-messages, all of which are micro, into 60 seconds of which the players seem to take zero away.

I think that she can count herself lucky to have a single trophy in her cabinet (Camino played the way she coached) and given the finals format, the Lightning are no chance to win from fourth.
