Not a bad result considering the pre game activities.

For those not aware, the bus carrying the Lightning girls to the game was involved in an accident, not the ideal preparation.
Game was tied 77 all as the final buzzer approached, Adelaide turned the ball over, Flames could not score, sending it to OT.

why was the game played and who made the decision to play ?????
when does player/coach safety come first.
im no doctor but what about shock or concusions were they thought of before playing??

None of the players or coaching staff were injured by the accident...but would not have been an ideal preparation.
Great effort by the girls anyway, they did us proud even making the finals given the season that they had.

Agreed. A lot of injuries and a very young group. I'd be interested to see the average age of each WNBL team.
The statlines of key Lightning players have been amazing and there's been some excellent coverage in The Advertiser. The ABC coverage of games is also very good.
Going down by 1 in overtime would be both frustrating and satisfying, knowing that they'd put in a great performance.

Chris Lucas cracked his ribs, but no players were injured.
The bus was collected by a car running a red light.
Fantastic game last night, both Adelaide and Sydney had a few chances to take the game, with Sydney's good result at the f/t line after the buzzer the only thing that stopped at second over time period.
No doubt Adelaide are justifibly proud of their season, and will be primed for bigger and better things in 05/06
