How do you rate the Sixers

against reputation and expectation coming in to the season:

Here is my thoughts:

9/10 . J.Hodge - 23.3 pts, 9 Rebounds, 6.5 assists
8/10 . Balls - 21.7 pts, 8 Rebounds, 1.3 assists
9/10 . Luke S - 16.3 pts, 11 Rebounds, 1.6 blocks
7/10 . Brett - 11.9 pts, 3 Rebounds, 2 assists
7/10 . Bruce - 10.9 pts, 2.3 Rebounds, 5.3 assists
6/10 . Holmes - 10.7 pts, 7.1 Rebounds, 2.1 assists
7/10 . Hill - 7.8 pts, 3.5 Rebounds, 1.5 assists
5/10 . Davidson - 5.1pts, 1.9 Rebounds, 2.3 assists

All in all I believe Davidson has performed below expectation however has suffered with injury, expectation of Holmes should be more assists and Rebounds unless he can contribute 15 ppg

Bruce has good numbers for his first season in the Nbl and Maher has had solid numbers for this team and is the money man when things are close

IMO LUke has been the player who has been better than most expected he would so I rate him a 9/10 above Balls.

I have seen criticism through the season about some players particulary from the media however it is good to consider the expectation

Coaches have performed above expectation also rate them 8/10

Tend to agree with most:
9/10 . J.Hodge - Always in the action
9/10 . Balls - Most reliable shooter
9/10 . Luke S - Foul magnet - if they call 'em
7.5/10 . Brett - Designated shooter
7/10 . Hill - best off bench, v.good fast break
6/10 . Holmes - has dropped off since Julius & illness
6/10 . Bruce - too many turnovers
4/10 . Davidson - injury has hampered him
3/10 . Coops - 0/5 offence & 3/5 in defence
2/10 . Wini - sympathy points
2/10 . Rhino
2/10 . Burdman
1/10 . Hobbo - needs a run !

I would agree with Jack Toft. Only difference are

6/10 Davidson. has been a great spark when we have needed him unfortunately he has been injured.

6/10 Hill. He had that good game but still not good enough to be a starter just yet.

6.5/10 Bruce

5.5/10 Holmes. Has been a passenger. He is rated a 9 point player yet has not improved since he left Adelaide 3 seasons ago. Why people always give him pats on the back and 31 minutes a game I don't know. Defensively I don't see him as that good as he is too small to guard the big forwards and too slow to guard the smaller forwards. Ninnis is starting to get it right and playing him less. I would have much preferred to see Oscar back. While Jacob can add some value to the team at the moment he is massively under performing in my book.

Coaches I would say is 7/10 but only due to some recent proactive work. Such as getting Hodge, not playing Winitana, leaving players on for longer, finally working out good rotations and finally scouting better.

Why all the hate on Jake?

Yes his numbers havnt been as impressive as they could but your asking for more boards and assists if not 15ppg?

Remember that we have some guy named Julius Hodge. Oh and i heard there was this guy from Indiana...um i think his name is Adam Ballinger or something. Also some centre kinda tall long ranga as hair oh and a pass first point guard and the ever reliable Brett Maher.

Because of the depth in our team this year he is goin to get less points, Luke and Balls not to mention Julius take the boards and Jake bairly gets the ball in a position to drop a dime because of the position he plays.

Jacob is tryin his hardest every game he always is one of the guys hustlin the most so you cant say hes a passanger.

There's nothing wrong with Jacob, except that he's a quiet achiever. Good rebounding, good team player - what more do you want.

XztatiK, a bit harsh on Rhino, needs at least 1/10 for keeping the bench warm?

In regards to Bruce, is assist to turnover ratio is up there with the best guards in the league CJ, Heal and Homicide. We just seem to pick on him more because we see him play more often.

Stats assists to Turnovers (per game)

Julius Hodge 6.5 to 3.5
Shane Heal 6.1 to 3.4
Homicide 4.5 to 3.9
Aaron Bruce 5.7 to 3.3
CJ Bruton 6.1 to 2.8

So looking at that I wouldn't say Bruce is having to bad a season.

you would be kidding me on the coaches ratings? the player ratings are all pretty close but surely the coaches are a 5/10 at best considering the line up we have, they have the team sitting at below 50% win loss ratio!!

Big Sexy - agreed - Bruce is doing pretty well considering. Will need to shoulder more of the load on Wednesday if Davidson is unavailable.

I agree with XztatiK's ratings, but it is a worry when we consider most of our guys a 6 or 7 out of 10 that we have a team which so far has been about a 4.5 out of 10.

Saturday was a major step forward though. let's just hope we can keep it going tomorrow night.

Does the NBL have a Most Improved award? If so surely Brad Hill would have to be up there?

MIP Contenders:

J.Khazzouh (until he left)
M.Knight
O.Forman
A.Petrie
M.Cedar
R.Carter
N.Herbert
B.Hill

Not many standouts so far that's for sure. Brad's a chance I think.

I had been thinking Petrie would be a great chance, but he's mostly made an incremental increase in his numbers, more or less in line with his MPG increase. Same with Knight and Carter.

I think Hill's game has improved more than his stats suggest. Meanwhile, Herbert's output has jumped 5 PPG or so and Khazzouh's rebounding numbers are well up.

And Oscar...

14 and 6 at 52% up from 9 and 5 at 41% last year.
