36ers on Ten News in cricket helmets?

There was a 36rs on ten news tonight saying that the 36ers aren't going to back down from a physical Melbourne team but why was Brett Maher and two other player having their photo taken with cricket helmets on? Anyone else see it?

Yep also noticed that they said Brett had played 16 years for the sixers and that Sam Mac was a sixers veteran....both incorrect.

I would imagine that the cricket helmets are referring to the head high hits on Davidson and Maher by Anstey in the last game between Adelaide and Melbourne in Melbourne. It will be interesting to see how the physicality in this game will be called.

Word seems to be that if you hit the Sixers they go into their shell.

Hopefully Capt Baldy (with his early calling) can get on top of things early

10 get so many facts wrong it's not funny, even with football, it's like they just throw it together in 5mins.

Hey XztatiK, remember the early 90's when channel 10 DID actually know things and they used to broadcast from the Powerhouse whenever a game was on... and they used to also have locker-room interviews too.

Amazing how local media can just drop off the bandwagon after years of giving a crap.

I assume everyone saw the piccy in the Crowvertiser with Brett, Brad and Aaron wearing helmuts?

All we needed was Hilly in there and it would have been the four horseman of the apocolypse....

Yeh the cricket helmet thing was a fun pitch at Anstey. Love it.

BTW, that pic would be a handy link for OzHoops. There's a Sydney-centric Kings nut-case with a tag of "Bouncer" who irritates. Am I able to say that in the cricket world, the guy's a tosser?

The helmet thing is probably in reference to the physicality of the Tigers, unless Maher and Davidson were rebounding for Julius while he was shooting jumpshots. In that case a helmet might be a good idea!

The story and photo also made it into today's Herald-Sun newspaper in Melbourne.
