Stiff

There has been heaps of talk and rumours lately about stiff, basically i want to know if theres any chance of Adelaide getting him?

Salary cap seems to be the biggest issue but i think it would be worth it because with him the team would be complete.

Tigers aren't using him well, we should look to recruit him. I also bought his jersey just before he left adelaide and want to wear it again!

Does anyone know whats going on?

He's contracted to the Tigers for next season and likes it in Melbourne.

Stiff isn't what the SIXERS need. With Stiff, you would be sharing the time with Dusty and Stiff. Dusty is a more prolific scorer and passer whereas Stiff is a rebounder with few points in the game. Back in 01/02, when Stiff played his last season with Adelaide, Willie never could do what he does with Dusty (alley-oop etc).

If you had Stiff playing you would be looking at some less minutes from Dusty and Cooper/Rees to even it out. Dusty is a better player and and better suited player for the SIXERS.

GO SIXERS!!!

Cheers!!!

Seb -- surely Stiff would be competing with Cooper and Rees for minutes though?

Stiff may be a stronger scorer, but like I said, he's foul prone. He's averaging less than 18 MPG with the Tigers, but picking up 3.4 fouls in that time.

Here's a comparison between Stiff and Cooper

Stiff is playing 7 fewer minutes, but is fouling more and has more turnovers. Cooper is rebounding better, scoring about the same, and is getting more blocks.

I'd think that Stiff would be a little frustrating only getting 17 minutes per game, but he's tied to the Tigers for at least another year.

I would rather keep Coops rather than Stiffy, I think that coops just fits into the mould of what the 6ers need.

A no fuss player who busts his ass for the dirty work

No i disagree it would be tough playing 25min one night and then 8min the next, if he could get consistent court time he would play better

I agree with you kriss, it's the way the tigers are using him. Stiff was a very strong player with us and was averagin just under double doubles. I believe if we got him back he would return to himself because smyth knows his game, and how to use him.

Good to see a few fans. He would not be gettin any of Rycharts minutes, the next option is run him as a big man with Rees and Cooper (because he would be the biggest scorer and most athletic of the three) Aswell as running him as a 3 Man. He is a similar player to Oscar and can dribble, but that puts Holmes into no position. Because even though we say holmes can play guard, the back up guards for Maher and Farley at the moment seem to be Ng, Hill and even Gower.
But who cares just get him!

Stiff a 3-man? He's not a shooter.
