Pioneers have secured the services of former NBL player Andrew Rice for the 2009 and 2010 season.
They have also signed Dragons development player Tariq Naqqash (guard)for the 2009 season.
Adding to the signed players all of which have signed for two more years, Jason Sedlock, Dallas Jeffree, Kurt "Hollywood" Russell and Chris Mason...

Just curious. Does Rice fill a "restricted player" spot or do they still have two "import" positions to fill? If he doesn't, it's a fantastic signing. He'll look good in a purple/yellow Panthers top too.

I would say he just fills a normal spot as he didn't play NBL last season or this season. But I think they may also be paying him a bit so they may not be able to afford 2 imports...

Sorry Moses, you know the way the draft works, Cougars finished bottom and have lost Jeffree to a lack of interest in fighting with refs, so the next Pioneers goes to them.
Roos will get the guard I guess.
