2009 meetings: Round 13 at Perth; Round 20 at Adelaide
All-time record: 36ers 39, Wildcats 46
Streak: Perth have a current four-game win streak against Adelaide.
Brett Maher returns to play his first home game since he clocked up game number 500 in Canberra back on September 27th. This will be his 504th game, which sees him draw level with Perth Hall-of-Famer James Crawford on the all-time game splayed list.
So far this season Adelaide have allowed their opposition to score an average of 40 field baskets a game to be statistically the worst in the league while Perth give up a league best 30.8 per contest.
The 36ers are undefeated at home in two games this season but have gone winless on their four-game run away from the Dome. Adelaide follow up this match with a home game against Sydney and then four more away games in a run of five matches.
If Perth are forced to foul in a close game it will be a good bet that the Wildcats will know who not to send to the charity stripe. So far this year three of Adelaide's starters have not missed from the free-throw line with Aaron Bruce shooting 16-from-16, forward Adam Ballinger a perfect 12-from-12 and guard Brett Maher a straight shooting 10-from-10. The rest of the team are averaging just over 68%.
Wildcats guard Adam Caporn will be playing NBL game 150 in this one. Caporn played 122 consecutive games after his debut with the Hawks in 2004 before a knee injury put him out of the game for 10 months. Despite appearing in 44 games for the Wildcats, This will be the first time that Caporn will play for Perth against the 36ers in Adelaide.
Perth will coming off an eight-day break prior to this match which is the longest of their season so far after playing 10 games between the 17th of September and the 17th of October. This game starts a run of one game per round for the Wildcats for the next five weeks.
This will be the first head to head meeting for the only two new coaches in the NBL this season. Adelaide and Perth will be playing against each other for the 88th time, with the Wildcats 46 time winners over the 36ers (39 victories) the most games any two teams have played head to head in NBL history.
Last week against the Sixers the Hawks put up 94 shots - the most ever under Eric Cook's coaching - making 45 (47.8%).
