For anyone that hasnt heard or seen this crash at Bathurst on friday here it is. Luckily Paul Weel has been cleared of serious damage but has brusing of the lower back and one cracked rib, Chris Pither walked away unharmed.

Yes very similar looking incident to the one a couple of years back where Mark Porter was killed, freakily almost the same spot!
It actually looked worse than Porter's as the car that hit Weel did with the front of the car whereas the one that hit Porter slid sideways into Porters car. It must have just been the spot where it hit both cars that made the difference.
If the guy today was about 1m further to the right, Weel may not be alive IMO.
Obviously Motor Racing is dangerous and these guys go out there not knowing if there time is up, thankfully the gods were with Paul Weel today.

The flags were being waved but Pither has said in an interview he saw the flags at the last minute and Weel's car was only another 100M up the road so he couldnt do anything fast enough, he said he was mainly just getting his car away from hitting Weels drivers side door.
Yeah the Rat broke his right ankle and dislocated his left ankle and is suffering chest pains from this morning crash.
Does anyone think they need to look at the Bathurst circuit or anything after this weekends crashes and Porters one a few years ago?
