Newley was good before he went away to the 'Tute, infact he was awesome, but the reason he is where he is now is from two hard years of dedication and training. Give Ingles, Hill all that and we'll be looking at a future starting combo ($$$ permitting)

I believe Joe Ingles was compaired by NBA scouts as being a Toni Kucoch (spelling anyone) but with a great deal more skill.

reading this thread and some mention has been made of brad newley. this topic may have bee ndiscussed earlier in the year (and in fact late last year) but what was the reason for the 36ers not going for newley? was thier friction between smyth and newley's dad? smyth wasnt interested? newley didnt wanna play for 36ers? whats the story? i heard plenty of rumors, but am unsure of the real reason. anyone??

Joes only problem comes with his attitude. Altho some may disagree i have seen him get carried away with the refs and play a poor quality game when frustrated. But by being with the institute this should help mould his attitude into that of a all round quality player

Imagine an Ingles, Hill combination at the sixers, forget Jacob as the future of the Sixers its these two kids

Forget Jacob? He single-handedly won the ABA ship for Eastern last year. And Jacob isn't exactly in the same mould as Ingles, anyway.

I get the feeling that Jacob will become more and more effective the more he sees of the ball. Behind Maher, Farley and Rychart, he doesn't really get the chance to play like he did with the Mavs last year (which was just flat-out impressive).

Whether his biggest opportunities will come with another team, or taking over one of the three big roles with the Sixers remains to be seen I guess.

He's still young (that's easy to forget) and had superb stats yesterday.

Jacob excels in many areas at NBL level. His only main weakness is his shooting. That should improve with time. And he deserves more time considering how rapid his improvement has been over the last three years.

People were writing off Oscar this time last year. And now look how far he's come since then.

any word recently on this kid. Are the Sixers likely to sign him up.

Jingles may get drafted into the NBA, but he won;t mkae it there and will end up playing in Europe. He spends too much time drinking in bars after games and during the week. He can be seen at The Loft in with a few teammates (bar in Melb) after most games and he gets wasted. He needs to pull his head in and work harder on his game to make it in the NBA.
He looks disinterested at times and this will not help him.
I hope he pulls up his socks and gets his act together in roder to make the most of his talent and abilities.
